Worked in BPO as a fresher was it good?

So, this story revolved around 2022 in the month of May, before telling you the story let me tell you all I’m still an undergraduate pursuing a B.tech in CSE-AI/ML and at the time of writing this article I’m in my 2nd-year 4th sem student.

Around that time I was in my 1st year 2nd sem and our examination was already held before May then we got some leaves from college to cheer up our minds and do some other things. One of my friends was already working in a BPO and I just called him out of the blue and asked him if there were any vacancies left(1. I needed money and 2) my mum told me to do some work during those leaves and 3) I wanted to do something that would help me to develop myself.)then he replied yes and told me to come over to that location if possible right then.

Xtranet Solutions Private Ltd. then arranged my interview with HR and to be honest, that interview session only held for 5 minutes because my English proficiency was better enough to impress HR.

But, let me tell you the questions he asked me during the interview :

  • Introduce yourself
  • what’s your family background?
  • As you are a fresher and still pursuing your degree so, how will you manage work and studies?
  • Do you know about BPO and what we do in Xtranet?

that’s it and after this interview session he told me that I got selected and then I had to attend the training session(actually the training was the final round where after 3days I did a mock call with higher-ups and after that, I got a response from the higher-ups that then I could start working as a customer executive.)

So, then I started working as a customer executive at Xtranet Solutions Private Ltd. Basically, the company took projects from clients like Upstox, zomato, etc then we had to talk to the customers regarding the product. I was in the Upstox process so I talk to customers about how they can place orders and how they can use the Upstox app and all. The work experience was great for about 2 months because I learned many things and also I became confident enough and then I improved myself as a person. But, after 2 months I started to realize that I’m not enjoying my work indeed I’m earning some money but still due to work I wasn’t able to concentrate on my studies and specifically on my programming which I enjoy doing a lot.

Due to this l started losing interest in my job and my performance started to decline I was not able to perform well and all I was thinking “This isn’t a job I wanna do “but still worked there for 5months and left after 5months and started working on my programming skills.

I learned many things while I was working as a customer executive and those are :

  • Communication skill is a powerful skill it is easy to learn but hard to master.
  • If you do not enjoy what you are doing then you start to get irritated about your life so, it’s better to resign and go after what you really enjoy.
  • If any college-going student wanted to do a full-time job BPO is a good place for it(but, for some months)it will definitely help you to develop the necessary skills.
  • helped me to learn about responsibility as a team member and to develop leadership skills.
  • Opened up my mind that are many opportunities to learn and grow.
  •  And that day I did something out of my comfort zone(like being interviewed, etc).

So, overall the experience was good but don’t have any regrets and became financially independent for a few months and handed my first salary to my mom that day I was so satisfied and happy.
