TANCET Exam Experience

I am Madhumitha and I am currently pursuing an MCA degree in The American College, Madurai. I have shared the cute experience that I gained by writing the TANCET Exam 2022 which I wrote for MCA Degree in the year of May 2022.

What is TANCET?

TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) is one of the state competitive exams that is conducted by the government every year in which many candidates may apply for their post-graduation degree such as MBA, MCA, ME, M.Tech, etc.

How does my journey begin?

At the beginning of my under graduation, I was very eager to study MCA Degree for my post-graduation. I was not aware of this competitive exam but I come across to know about this from my friend. I was not sure how I would write this exam, what are protocols should be followed, and how the questions would be asked. My friend guided me what are the syllabus, important questions, and the study methodology of the exam. She was about to write the exam but due to unfortunate circumstances, she couldn’t write the exam. She motivated me a lot to study and helped to gain some knowledge about the exam. I started to take a challenge myself to accomplish my goal of pursuing an MCA Degree. I also had a strong belief in myself in which I can overcome the obstacles to achieve my goal.

The challenge that I faced during the preparation

I faced many challenges during the period of study for this competitive exam. I almost took 6 months for the preparation of the exam from December 2021 to May 2022. During the pandemic period from January 2022 to February 2022, I had a lot of time for the preparation of the exam. I spent 10 hours a day studying for the exam. Well, I had no seniors to know about their experiences in the exam. I referred to some videos in the internet in which some people shared their experiences through blogs and youtube videos. With the help of them, I got a clear reference about this exam. I also got many obstacles during my preparation days such as the final year project of my under graduation year, assignments, and internals for the final semester in my college. Though these became very hectic to me, I never lose my hope and my inner strength.

My preparation strategies

My elder sister helped me to prepare for my exam by buying a test book for my exam. The test book contains topics such as Quantitative Ability, Analytical and Logical Reasoning, etc. The syllabus for TANCET 2022 MCA contains Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and Computer Awareness. With the help of the test book, I practiced the problems and questions for each section. As I told earlier, I took the utmost 10 hours for day for my preparation. I used to study 5 hours in the morning and 5 hours in the evening. I also share the tips and tricks of my preparation. I have browsed the syllabus through the internet and referred you tube videos, and other sources. I covered topics that are not known to me through some youtube videos. Great, youtube videos helped me a lot for my preparation. I also watched some study vlogs in youtube to gain motivation for me to study and focus on the examination. Watching the study vlogs might make you stay focused on your study for any exams.

Points to remember during your exam

To start your study session, these points may help you to focus on your study.

• First, Take a deep breath and drink water.
• Grab your stationery and study materials.
• Refer to youtube videos and other sources on the internet if you have any doubts about a particular topic.
• Practice more and more.
• Lastly, Believe in yourself and never lose hope.

By following these steps, I was able to complete 70% of the syllabus in 3 months. I also practiced the questions by doing some mock tests. I am not only prepared only for the TANCET but also for my future career purposes.

On the day of the Examination

At last, the time has arrived. TANCET exam 2022 was conducted on 14th May 2022 for both MCA and MBA professional degrees. This exam will be conducted every year of March but due to the pandemic, the exam was delayed to the month of May. My exam center was in Anna University Regional Campus, Madurai. I was on the way to the exam center with my Dad in the car. Though I am confident in myself for the exam, I was a little bit nervous and tense. My Dad made me comfortable by bringing me out of my nervousness. He told me that I would do well and try my best in the examination. I gained much more motivation from him. Finally, we reached our destination. My Dad wished me for my exam. The exam was about 2 hours with 100 questions. Each question contains 1 mark. If an answer to one question is made wrong, there will be a detection of 0.33%. I entered the exam hall with my inner strength and the support given by my family. There are many students with unique ambitions to write the exam. The exam commenced at 10.00 AM. I got the question paper and I looked through it. I became a little bit nervous again by looking at it. The question paper made me feel a little tough. The questions made me difficult to understand and were also confusing. Then I closed my eyes and I took a deep breath. I started to look at the question paper with full confidence that I could do it. I once again believe in myself and that I could try my best. I started writing the exam by what I had studied. There are four sections in the question paper – Quantitative Aptitude, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Computer Awareness. I took half an hour for each section to complete the exam. The exam was finished at 12.00 PM. After the end of the examination, I felt and believed that better results would come from my 6 months of hard work.

What’s the Result?

It took 5 weeks to release the examination result by the government. The result of TANCET 2022 exam was on 9th June 2022. I was very thrilled to know my results. My friends who wrote the exam also had the same feelings. I had an expectation of getting a score above 80%. That’s becoming true. The result was released at 10.00 AM sharply by the government. My result was 88.79% in TANCET 2022 examination for MCA Degree. I was so happy and excited that I got the result beyond my expectation. I thank God for giving me a good result. I also felt that I could do anything to achieve my goal with my strong subconscious. With this best result, I joined one of the best colleges in Tamil Nadu – The American College for my MCA degree through the online counseling of the TANCET examination.
