SSB Interview Experience

Good morning all,  I am pursuing my B-Tech degree from Government Engineering College Thrissur, Kerala, India. Joining the defense force is my dream…a dream that is seen by my eyes are open, a dream that couldn’t let me sleep.

I was so excited and Happy to get an interview letter for Tes10+2 46 course (Technical Entry Scheme) Army at Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh. I selected my interview date on 21 December 2022. I went there with my elder brother. It was the first time that I am going outside of Kerala.

I went there, the SSB interview is going on in two stages:
Stage 1: Consists of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP & DT).
Stage 2: Consists of Interviews, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and the Conference.
The interview is a five-day interview.

Reporting Day and Screening: There are 300 candidates reported. And after the OIR, PPDT test, and group discussion the students were line by line and started calling names of screen in candidates. At last, my name was called. There were 17 candidates who got screened in. So I got a new chest number Initially, I was chest number 67 and now the new chest number was 12.

Psychology Test: After screening in, we went to a room, where we can relax. Played tennis ball and volleyball with my new friends.I was able to give better responses and good stories in WAT, SRT, and TAT respectively. Many of them called for interview expect me.

GTO-1: At 5:45 we were called for at GTO ground.GTO-1 day leaving individual obstacles, command Task, and FGT. Many of them called for interview expect me.

GTO-2 and Interview :Command task 5 of 10 peoples called me for their assistance. Then I was called for an interview. The interview is long not less than 30 minutes. The interview questions is simple, Like about my self,my family, friends,my academics, simple questions from physics, chemistry,maths and some general knowledge… since it is an technical Entry. After that, I played with my friends. Taking pictures etc.

Conference Day: This is the last day of the SSB interview. There is a short interview. Asked about how was the SSB interview, how was stay, food, etc. This is the day that all the candidates were waiting for. I packed my bags and all are ready for the results. The officer came and announced the result. I had a conference out. Only 2 of the 17 candidates were Conference in, Others were Conference Out.

After been Conference, I called my parents. Then I went to the railway station and return back to my home.

The experience is wonderful and unforgettable moments. I enjoyed every moment. I got new knowledge and new friends.
