Schlumberger (SLB) Interview Experience for Software Engineer Intern

SLB shortlisted 200 people by resume + cg from CSAI/CS/IT background for intern OA. The OA consists of Java understanding, programming skills, and problem-solving proficiencies.

OA questions :

The Java Theory Questions segment consisted of 10 challenges, time window was 10 min for section 1. Subsequently, the Java Code Output section presented 10 code snippets, demanding output within the next 10 minutes.

In the Coding Questions section, utilizing the remaining time, 2 questions are given. The first involved converting decimal numbers into binary, and the second revolved around identifying inputs within the Fibonacci sequence. The tests were quite easy that’s allowed most candidates to complete it in just 30 minutes.

From this pool, 55 candidates, including me selected for further process:

Round 1 :

Group Discussion (GD) round: Grouped in sets of ten, candidates debated topics, scrutinizing communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. , my topic was social media is Boon or pain The top three from each group were selected for further round 2, including me.

Round 2:

Technical Interview: Round 2 started with an introduction of me the recruiter was seeing my resume, and asked ques from it, then he asked me to write a code to start the server of the backend, then he asked me to write an html code for the figure which includes box within a box within a box. (nested box)

then he asked me the difference between polymorphism and abstraction and told me to give a real-world example of polymorphism then he moved towards DBMS and asked about the query that helps to know about data of row/column in the database, after that, he gives me a 2 coding problem

he asked me to write code for, requiring the input to transform “SHWETA” into “S_H_W_E_T_A” and next question was Remove duplicates from an array. I answered all questions as the questions were easy.

Then he moved towards my background and hobbies. Interview ends

Unfortunately, I was not selected for round 3, it was my first experience of interviewing at MNC.

Tips :

You should know your resume very well.

• We usually take core subjects not that much seriously but we should prepare for it very well.
• Always tries to speak whatever you are doing on paper.
• And at last, it also depends on your luck, keep doing 🙂
