PwC visited our campus in the month of December offering 2 roles for B.Tech graduates Technology Consultant and Cybersecurity Consultant. The Cybersecurity role was offered only to CSE / IT / ECE branches whereas the Tech consultant role was offered to all the branches including Mechanical, Chemical, and Civil Engineering. Since the country is still coping with the pandemic situation and the colleges being shut, the entire process was virtual.

There were a total of 5 rounds in the selection process:

Round 1:

  1. Quantative 
  2. Logical aptitude reasoning
  3. Reading Comprehension
  4. Pattern-based sequence completion

This was an agility based round conducted on the SHL online platform. There were a total of 30 questions that were to be completed in 36 minutes. You need to manage your time well as you can attempt the next question only after answering the previous one. Practicing Reading Comprehension and Logical questions from CAT blogs would prove to be very beneficial. 

Round 2: After shortlisting students in the first round, wherein 200 qualified for the next round, the second round was a behavioral and psychometric test consisting of 100 questions. An important point to be noted here is that there are a number of questions that was repeated multiple times. Make sure that you mark similarly and that your answers don’t differ. Students who failed to do so were eliminated. A total of 140 students were selected for the virtual interviews.

Round 3: The first round of interviews was a CV based interview process. Be well-prepared with everything that has been mentioned in your resume including your extracurricular activities.  It is totally fine if you are from other branches and not aware of the Cybersecurity domain. Be confident in front of them and explain your situation. They will totally understand and quiz you on your projects and other software topics like SQL and any other programming language in which you are confident, They had also asked 2 puzzles :

  1. Six Houses P, Q, R, S, T, and U.
  2. The Fox, The Duck, and a Circular Pond.

Going through the puzzles on the https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/ as well as indiabix will definitely help you like the majority of the puzzles asked in various other companies will be similar. If you can walk them through your ideology and not reach the final precise solution, it is totally accepted. 27 students were shortlisted for the next round.

Round 4: This interview was conducted by the Sr Manager. Here they will expect basic technical knowledge and familiarity with the CyberSecurity domain. Questions such as :

  1. Differentiate between IDS and IPS.
  2. OSI, TCP, and IP in networking.
  3. Working on SSL and VPN
  4. They would give you scenarios and you had to suggest what methodology can be used to prevent the breach
  5. Practical Application of Abstraction concept in OOPS.
  6. In what scenarios can an interface be more efficient than Polymorphism.
  7. Basic terminologies in DBMS such as the definition of ACID properties and various Normalization techniques were asked.

Following these technical questions, was an informal discussion wherein he asked about our extra-curricular interests and other achievements. Be confident and honest in your answers and when it’s your chance to ask questions, do read about the company in advance and ask questions that are related to the domain and the company’s progress and performance in that sector. This will help you to end the interview on a high note. 7 students were shortlisted for the next round

Round 5: This was a general and informal discussion with the HR where all 7 students were asked to join at the same time. Everyone was given 2 mins to introduce themselves and what followed next was an informal discussion such as our schooling activities, hobbies, and interests. Everyone was asked as to why they wanted to join PWC as well as their location preferences. 

6 out of the 7 students were selected for FTE in the CyberSecurity domain. Good communication skills and confidence will prove to be very beneficial. Hope this piece of writing helps you out and all the very best!!!!.
