Lumen Technologies(CenturyLink Inc) Interview Experience (On-Campus)

Eligibility criteria: 80% and above in 10th and 12th & Above 80% and above in B.Tech.

Branch: CSE, ECE, EI, EE, CHE, CE, ME, PE, BE (ALL B.Tech branches).

There was 4 round for the final selection.

Round 1(Online Test): The first round was an online test conducted on the HackerEarth platform. The total time was 90 mins. As there was a single section, one can answer any question and there was no negative marking. 

1. CS Fundamentals Question – 29  MCQ questions (DSA, OS, NETWORKING, DevOps)

Round 2(Technical): The second round was a Technical Round. Out of  66 students, 15 were shortlisted for the next round.

Technical Interview Question(30 minutes):

1. Introduce yourself.
2. Explain your projects.
3. Features of OOPs.
4. Difference between exception and error? Explain exception handling.
5. Concept of Virtual class and use.
6. What are the features of JavaScript?
7. What is the difference between Attributes and Property?
8. How to read a cookie using JavaScript?
9. What is the difference between Local storage & Session storage?
10. What is the difference between DELETE and TRUNCATE statements? Query to find the second max salary
11. Concept of Recursion. Program to find Fibonacci series using Recursion. ( https://www.tutorialspoint.com/data_structures_algorithms/fibonacci_recursive_program_in_c.htm )
12. Program to left rotate the elements of an array. ( https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/how-to-left-or-right-rotate-an-array-in-java/ )
13. How we will be able to store different types of variables in a single memory location?

Round 3(Managerial): The third round was a Managerial Round. From 15 students 5 were shortlisted for the next round.

Interview Question(30 minutes):

1. Introduce yourself.
2. Explain your projects.
3. Next, we discuss my final year project and also some discussion about the branch-related subjects. (As I am from Non-CS background)
4. Consider two trains starting from two points X and Y respectively. Trains that start from X travels at 50km/hr while the train which starts from Y travels at 50Km/hr. Both trains start at the same time. A Bird also starts from X at the same time. The speed of the Bird is 100Km/hr. The Bird flies from X to Y until it meets the train started from Y. After that it changes its direction and fly towards the train started from X. When it meets X it starts flying toward Y and so on until the train meets. What is the total distance covered by the bird?
5. How to calculate number of matches in IPL in a logical way?
6. He asked me about Extracurricular activities.
   

Round 4(HR):  The fourth round was an HR round. From FIVE students FOUR were shortlisted for the next round.

5. About my hobbies
6. Something out of my Resume

AFTER THE FINAL HR ROUND ALL FOUR STUDENTS GOT THE OFFER AS SOFTWARE ENGINEERS.
