Incedo Inc. Interview Experience for SDE/Quality Assurance Engineer | On-Campus
Incedo Inc. visited our college, SRM Institute of Science and Technology in August’21, and everything was conducted in virtual mode.
I applied for the role of Software Development Engineer. While applying for the same we were asked to choose a programming language from C, C++, Java, and Python. I chose C++.
There were 3 rounds in the whole process.
Round 1: Online Test
It is comprised of 6 sections and each section had a timer. The cut-off for each section was 70%.

- English Comprehension consisted of synonyms, antonyms, and questions based on two passages, etc.
- Logical Ability consisted of coding and decoding questions, number series questions, blood relations, etc.
- Quantitative Ability consisted of questions from Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Permutations and Combinations, etc.
- Computer Programming consisted of questions where we had to predict the output of the code, and other technical MCQs based on Data Structures and Algorithms and the programming language I chose (i.e., C++).
- Automata Fix consisted of questions where we were given a piece of code and a paragraph on what that code was supposed to do. We had to find errors in the given code and correct them in order to make them behave the way they were intended to.
- The personality section was basically statements such as “I can manage multiple tasks at the same time” and we had to mark how we feel about the statement (i.e. Strongly disagree, Disagree, Neutral, Agree, or Strongly Agree).
After this, we received the invitation for the next round on the same day. A total of 2270 students appeared for this round and 61 were called for the technical interview.
Round 2: Technical Interview
The interview was conducted the next day. It was a 30 min interview and I was asked-
- To introduce myself and tell which programming language I liked the most,
- What I knew about OOPS Concept and to explain Abstraction,
- How would I implement Abstraction on a module called ‘invoice’,
- How would I reuse the code in my module ‘invoice’,
- What data normalization was,
- Explain the different forms of normalization,
- What I knew about SQL Joins,
- To write a query to display an employee’s name and designation from two tables – Employee Personal Info (with employee id, name, address, phone no., etc) and Employee Info (with employee id, department, designation, salary, etc.),
- What is referential integrity,
- Which sorting algorithm is better, Merge Sort or Quick Sort, and
- How would I find the route which would take me from one place (say, ‘A’) to another (say, ‘B’) in the minimum possible time if I already had data from the last 10 years about the number of cars that ran on the various possible routes (from ‘A’ to ‘B’) on a daily basis?
After this, the interviewer asked if I had any questions and I did so I asked a few questions and on the same day I received an invitation for the next round. A total of 61 students appeared for this round and 36 were called for the leadership round.
Round 3: Leadership Round
This round was conducted the next day. It was a 30 min discussion and I was asked-
- To tell something about myself (basically introduction and my strengths),
- To explain how I behave in/ handle a situation where a conflict arises between a superior (like a teacher) and myself,
- What would I do, if I’m selected for this role and we’re working on a project and I have a manager who is very strict and likes things done in a particular way. She’s/He’s not present during a meeting with the UX team where our team feels that we don’t need to improve the product any further as it would take a lot of effort so we can compromise the quality but the UX team says that we should improve upon it,
- What is my style of working – some work best under pressure, some cannot handle pressure at all, some have a very regimental approach.
- Where according to me is Incedo lacking when compared to giants like Google and Facebook,
- How do I relax after a long week of work and why do I think this question is an important one for an interviewer to ask, and
- What do I bring to the table?
This interview/discussion had gone really well and the interviewer seemed very impressed and sure enough, I got selected. The results came the same day. A total of 36 students appeared for this round and 15 were selected.
The 6-month internship starts from Jan’22 and after its completion, we will be converted to full-time roles.
