Mamata Banerjee is the current chief minister of West Bengal. She taken the oath as 18th CM of West Bengal after 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. She was born on 05 Jan 1955 in a middle-class family in Kolkata.

She was very active in politics right during her college days. She established the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) in 1997 as a result of disagreements with the Indian National Congress. Mamta Banerjee was the first woman to hold the office of Minister of Railways twice. During her tenure as CM of Bengal, She did some commandable job in boosting the developement and growth of the Bengal state.

Dr. Prafulla Chandra Ghosh was the first chief minister of West Bengal. He served as West Bengal CM from August 15, 1947, to August 14, 1948. He was born on December 24, 1891, in the modest village of Malikanda, which is currently located in Bangladesh.
