Recently, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi reshuffle his cabinet on July 7, 2021 for the first time since May 2019. There were some young and well-educated ministers were added to the list of ministers of India. Cabinet Ministers of India 2024

Cabinet Ministers in Government of India is a group of some ministers who are responsible for making important decisions and implementing policies all over the country. The Prime minister is head of cabinet minister of India. There are currently 28 Cabinet Ministers in India as part of the Union Council of Ministers. According to Article 75 of the Indian Constitution, the total number of ministers, including the Prime Minister also, cannot exceed 15% of the total members in the Lok Sabha. As there are 543 members in the current Lok Sabha, so the maximum number of ministers can go upto a maximum of 81 ministers only.

Generally Ministers of India are appointed by the president of India as per the advice of Prime Minister of India.These ministers plays a very crucial role in the implementation of various rules, schemes and in good governance.

New Ministers in PM Modi’s New Cabinet

With the intention of doing well in the upcoming elections in the states, PM Narendra Modi reshuffle his Cabinet of ministers. As per official sources, the Modi administration has the goal of ensuring delivery to the bottom most layer of the society for which the government needed new and young ministers.

The cabinet that has been formed recently by the Prime Minister shows diversity in terms of regional, geographical, and demographic features. The emphasis on representation of communities is shown by various factors, including individuals’ experiences, gender, and representation within the community. What Does the ADR Report Say About New Cabinet Ministers?

The Association for Democratic Reforms or ADR report had given a detailed report on new cabinet ministers.

1. Criminal Cases against Ministers:

A total of 33 Ministers have criminal cases filed against them. Among these 33 ministers, 24 of them have serious criminal cases instituted against them for example attempt to murder, murder and also robbery.

2. Millionaire Cabinet Ministers:

90% of the new Cabinet members at least are millionaires as per the report of ADR. This simply means that out of total 78 Ministers, 70 ministers have declared their total assets which amounts to over Rs. 1 crore.

3. Low Assets Ministers:

Cabinet Ministers having least assets are: Pratima Bhoumik (Rs 6 lakh approx.), John Barla (Rs 14 lakh approx.), Kailash Choudhary (Rs 24 lakh approx.), V Muraleedharan (Rs 27 lakh approx.) and Bishweshwar Tudu (Rs 27 lakh approx.).

4. High Assets Ministers:

Total 4 Ministers have declared their assets to be worth more than Rs. 50 crores.

They include Jyotiraditya Scindia (Rs 379 crores), Piyush Goyal (Rs 95 crores), Shri Narayan Rane (Rs 87 crores), as well as Mr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar (Rs 64 crores).

5. Educational Qualification:

Among the total of 78 Ministers, 9 of them have a professional doctorate, 17 of the Ministers are graduates as well as professional graduates, only 2 Ministers have passed their Standard 8 exams, 3 of the Ministers have passed their Standard 10 exams and 7 of the Ministers have passed Standard 12 exams.
