I attended the ITC Infotech on-campus placement drive for the Associate IT Consultant role and here are my experiences and tips that I would like to share with you:

Round 1 : Online Assessment(90 minutes) :

The online assessment has 4 sections Section A: English, Section B: Quantitative Aptitude, Section C: Logical Reasoning, and Section D: Computer Science.

  • In Section A we had 3 comprehension passages with 5 questions each and the questions are in easy-medium difficulty and reading the passage with concentration will help you pick the right option easily.
  • Section B and C are relatively easy when compared with Section A and with good practice in aptitude and reasoning, one can easily solve the questions.
  • Section D has questions related to finding outputs, finding errors, and SQL queries. If your Computer Science fundamentals are good you can easily solve most of the questions.

Round 2 : Communication Assessment(45 minutes) :

If you are good at speaking and listening you can easily clear this round. The test is conducted on the speech X platform and Section A has multiple choice questions that test our grammatical skills, Section B has a listening test where we are supposed to listen to a paragraph and answer 3 multiple choice questions, remember to pay attention while listening as the audio is only played once. There are three such audio recordings that we must listen to. Section C is of speaking test where we are asked to speak about the topic that is displayed on the screen, the topics are simple like “Who is your favorite teacher and why?”, “What kind of news do you prefer reading in the newspaper?” and so on. Try to speak for at least 90 seconds on the given topics for better results. It is important to give this test in a quiet room and be loud and clear while answering the questions.

Round 3: Technical Interview Round(20-30 minutes):

Firstly the interviewer was nice and he made me comfortable. In this round, I was asked the following questions

  • Introduce yourself.
  • The programming language I am comfortable with.
  • Basic questions related to your programming language. In my case, I answered Java, and questions like Features of Java and differences between Java and other programming languages were asked.
  • Questions based on OOPS concepts. Very important and sure shot question.
  • Puzzle based questions, these are very simple and with little thinking you can answer them.

It is very important to communicate well in this round. Even if you fail to answer some of the questions it is okay, but the way you are expressing the answers matter a lot. People with good communication skills and good knowledge in Computer Science fundamentals can easily clear this round.

Round 4: HR round(15 minutes):

Try to know about ITC Infotech and the kind of work it does before giving this round. Questions like Why this company?, Where do you see yourself in 5 years?, What do you know about ITC? were asked. Doing a good research about the company would help you a lot.

I hope you had gained some idea about the selection process. In my opinion the company wanted people with good communication skills and a basic knowledge in Computer Science fundamentals.

All the best 🙂
