Introduction:

Embarking on a journey of transformative change, my admission into IIIT Surat holds immense significance, especially considering my current circumstances. The prospect of a new college experience has always intrigued and motivated me, and now, more than ever, it carries a profound importance in shaping my future. In this narrative, I will take you through my admission journey, highlighting the course I aspired to pursue, the rigorous exams and interviews I encountered, and the unique criteria and process of admission specifically for Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Surat (IIIT Surat).

Furthermore, as I write this account, I find myself in the midst of my second semester, navigating the challenges and opportunities that come with being a student at IIIT Surat. My current situation as a student brings a sense of excitement and determination, fueling my desire to share my admission experience with others.

In November 2022, after enduring the hardships of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was fortunate enough to secure admission to IIIT Surat. Despite the lingering effects of the global crisis, the opportunity to join this esteemed institution became a beacon of hope and a testament to my resilience. The admission process served as a gateway to a future brimming with possibilities, enabling me to embark on my academic journey at IIIT Surat.

Eligibility Criteria:

The admission process at IIIT Surat follows specific eligibility criteria to ensure that students who are truly passionate and capable have the opportunity to join this esteemed institution. To be considered for admission, aspiring students must meet certain requirements.

First and foremost, admission to IIIT Surat is exclusively based on the scores obtained in the JEE Main examination. This national-level entrance exam serves as a significant factor in determining the eligibility of candidates. The JEE Main score acts as a crucial benchmark for evaluating the academic competence and potential of applicants.

In addition to the JEE Main scores, the admission process at IIIT Surat is facilitated through JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counseling. Candidates who have successfully qualified for the JEE Main are required to participate in the centralized counseling process conducted by JoSAA. During this counseling, aspiring students have the opportunity to choose IIIT Surat as one of their preferred choices for admission.

Furthermore, to secure admission to IIIT Surat, it is essential to meet the cutoff ranks specified by the institute. 1. JoSAA Seat Allotment Letter: This document indicates the seat allotted to you during the counseling process. It can be downloaded from the JoSAA website after seat allocation.
2. JoSAA Registration Form: Carry a printed copy of the form you filled out during the JoSAA counseling process.
3. Class X (High School) Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate: Carry the original mark sheet and passing certificate of Class X as proof of date of birth and eligibility.
4. Class XII (Intermediate) Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate: Carry the original mark sheet and passing certificate of Class XII or equivalent examination. These documents are essential for verifying your eligibility and academic qualifications.
5. Provisional Seat Allotment Letter: If you have accepted a seat in an institute during an earlier round of counseling, carry the provisional seat allotment letter issued by JoSAA.

On the Day of Admission:

On the day of my admission, I went through a mix of emotions and experiences. After receiving my CSAB Round 2 allotment, I had limited time to prepare myself. Being far away, I quickly booked train tickets for myself and my parents. However, due to the busy Delhi-Mumbai route, we ended up with waiting tickets, and the date of the journey remained uncertain. With little time on hand, we decided to embark on the journey anyway, hoping for the best. Thankfully, one of our tickets cleared, and my journey began.

During the 13-hour train ride, my mind was filled with various thoughts. I wondered what awaited me at IIIT Surat, being so far away from home. Would I be able to achieve my goals? Could I adjust to the new environment without my family? These questions and concerns were natural for any student in my position.

Finally, on November 10th, I arrived in Surat. As my reporting date coincided with the day of my arrival, I headed straight to the college from the station. I completed all the necessary formalities and finally got admitted. Afterward, I visited the hostel, although initially, there were some issues that needed to be resolved. Eventually, everything fell into place.

Following that, I spent a few days with my relatives in Surat, as I was feeling homesick. But on the night of November 13th, I shifted to the hostel. The first day in the hostel felt different, with new friends and a new environment. On November 14th, we had the college orientation, where I had the chance to meet my faculty members. From that point onwards, my college journey officially began.

Overall, my admission experience was filled with both highs and lows. However, I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that awaited me at IIIT Surat. Despite the challenges, I knew that this was the beginning of a transformative phase in my life, and I was ready to embrace it wholeheartedly.
