The 2048 game is a math-based puzzle game in which you must slide tiles on a 4×4 grid in one of four ways. Touching tiles of the same value are combined into tiles with the merged ones’ extra value. After sliding, additional tiles appear at random, starting with a few 2-valued tiles. Before the board fills up, the goal of the game is to achieve a tile with a value of 2048. In this article, we will be installing the 2048 game on Ubuntu operating system.

Installation of 2048 Game in Ubuntu

On Ubuntu 21.04, there are three ways to install 2048. Apt-get, apt, and aptitude are all options. We’ll go through each strategy in detail in the sections below. You have the option of selecting one of them.

  • Using apt-get to install 2048
  • Using aptitude to install 2048

Method 1: Using apt-get to install 2048

Step 1: The following command will update the apt database.

sudo apt-get  update

 

Step 2: Following the update of the apt database, we can use apt-get to install 2048:

sudo apt-get -y install 2048

 

Method 1: Using aptitude to install 2048

Step 1: Because aptitude is not normally installed by default on Ubuntu, you may need to install it first. The following command will update the apt database with aptitude.

sudo aptitude update

 

Step 2: We may install 2048 using aptitude by performing the following command after updating the apt database:

sudo aptitude -y install 2048

 

Step 3: Now, we have successfully installed the 2048 game on our ubuntu operating system. To launch 2048 (game), navigate to the Application menu’s search field, type “2048,” and then click on the 2048 application icon:

 

Step 4: And, here we go. 2048 game is ready to play.
