Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries are used in laptops and tablets. Although a lithium battery lacks a “memory,” it nonetheless has a similar lifespan to previous batteries. Over time, their performance deteriorates, and finally, the battery’s ability to hold a charge for as long as it once did is lost. If you follow some simple guidelines for extending the life of your battery, the majority of lithium-ion laptop batteries offer 100% performance for the first year or longer. However, Windows 10 allows you to request a battery report if you believe your battery is performing poorly owing to a manufacturing flaw or an issue with your system.

The specifications of your battery are listed in this useful battery report, along with the service choices available based on the brand, model, and age of your system. For instance, if your laptop or battery is still covered by warranty and isn’t working properly, you might be able to request a free replacement. In Windows 10/11, getting a battery report is simple.

Steps to Generate a Battery Report

Step 1: Press Windows Key + R to open the Run box.

Keep in mind that you may choose any directory for the output. We are putting it in the D: root folder to keep things simple.

Step 4: Open the file.

Navigate to D:, directory, using Explorer. A file with the name battery report.html should be visible. To open the file in your default browser, such as Microsoft Edge, Chrome, or Opera, double-click on it.

And here is the battery report.
