GyanSys Company visited my college for an on-campus recruitment drive in October 2023, offering an Associate Consultant position. There were a total of 3 rounds, but due to a lack of timing, they removed the GD round, which remains the same round conducted at our college, the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), Bhubaneshwar.

Around 800 students applied, but the institute has selected 216.

Round 1 (written test):

This round consisted of 2 sections and 2 hours.

Section 1: Logical, Verbal, and Quantitative (30min)

Section 2: Fundamental Concepts of Computer Science, including DSA, Networking, Operating System, SQL, and 1 Coding Question The coding question was between easy and medium-level based on a graph. (90 min).

If you clear all the test cases of the coding question, then the probability of getting selected for round 2 will be high.

Out of 216 students, only 56 cleared round 1.

Round 2 (Tech + HR):

Averagely, this round was about 15-20 minutes, but my interview went for around 40 minutes. There were a total of 7 panels, and panels were assigned purely based on the performance of the first round. Those students who passed all the test cases of the coding question or those who had good knowledge of the fundamental concept of computers were assigned Panel 1. I was assigned Panel 1 because I’d cleared all the test cases in one go.

When I entered the room, they did not ask for “Give me an intro,” but just asked to give your resume.

These were the following questions asked in the interview:

  • Your city is famous for
  • Write a code to print the inverted triangle pattern. (On aper)
  • Explain the project and show the code on GitHub.
  • Basic concepts of data structures (LinkedList, ArrayList, etc.) and SQL
  • What are enqueue and dequeue?
  • What is the biggest failure in your life, and what would you change if you had one chance to make it right?
  • What is your hobby?
  • They asked one probability question. On each vertex of an equilateral triangle, there is an ant. Each ant can move freely on its vertex. Now what is the probability of colliding if they start to move freely in any direction?
  • Tell me three lessons you have learned after organizing the Saraswati Pooja event. (Mentioned in my resume.)

Frankly speaking, the interviewers were quite friendly, and they were impressed by me.

Out of 56 total students, 37 got selected for the company. I was one of them.

Conclusion:

If you have a friendly interviewer, then there is a high chance you will be selected for the role (applicable to those students who have at least basic knowledge of fundamentals).

Keep in mind: “What you know is a drop; what you do not know is an ocean!”. If you do not get selected for the role, then do not lose hope; just trust the process because out there, something big is waiting for you.

All the best for your future.

Thank you.
