Here is a write-up of my admission experience to Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar (GNDU) in 2019:

My Admission Experience to Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar

I am a student of Computer Science Engineering at Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar (GNDU). I have done my engineering in Electronics and Communication(ECE) I was admitted to this university through the JEE Main entrance exam in 2019. The admission process was quite smooth and well-organized, but there were a few things that I would like to share with you.

I was always under pressure to succeed in my studies, even before I got into GNDU. My parents wanted me to get into a top engineering college, and I felt a lot of pressure to live up to their expectations. When I got into GNDU, I was relieved that I had gotten into a good college, but I was also a little disappointed that I hadn’t gotten into an NIT.

However, I quickly realized that GNDU was a great college, and I started to enjoy my studies here.

The professors are very knowledgeable and helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to help students. The university also has a lot of extracurricular activities, like the availability of a swimming pool, cycling ground, and 24*7 library access with advanced internet and manuscripts

The Application Process

The first step in the admission process was to fill out the online application form, which can be found on the university’s website. The application fee was Rs. 2000, which had to be paid through a bank challan. It is very important to fill up the Application Form failing to do so, there is no other option to get admission.

The Counseling Process

After the application form was submitted, I received an email and a phone call with the details of the counseling process. The counseling process was held in Amritsar, and I had to travel there to attend it. The counseling process was quite smooth, and I was allotted a seat in Electronics and Communication in the first round.

The Admission Process for Out-of-State Students

Out of a total of 120 seats in Electronics and Communication around 10-15 are reserved for students from outer states. There is a 10% quota for other state students. The admission process for out-of-state students is the same as the process for in-state students, In my counseling round around 200 students attended. Many are local students however students from states like J & K and Himachal, Haryana also attend. As you can see there is competition thus students who are left have a choice can be admitted to the regional campus like the one in Jalandhar.

**My Experience at GNDU**

I have been studying at GNDU for the past four years, and I have had a great experience. The university is well-equipped and has a good faculty. The professors are very knowledgeable and helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to help students. The university also has a lot of extracurricular activities, so there is always something to do.

**My Recommendations**

I would recommend GNDU to anyone who is looking for a good engineering college. The university is affordable, and it offers a good education. However, I would also like to point out that the placement ratio at the university is not very good. So, if you are looking for a university with good placement opportunities, then you may want to consider other universities.

Conclusion

Overall, I am very happy with my admission to GNDU. I have had a great experience here, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good engineering college. Here are some additional details about the admission process at GNDU:

  • The application process is open to students from all over India.
  • The JEE Main score is the main criterion for admission to GNDU.
  • Students are also required to submit their marksheets, certificates, and other documents.
  • The counseling process is held in Amritsar, and students must be present in person to participate.
  • Students are allotted seats based on their JEE Main score and their preference of stream.
  • The admission fee for students is Rs. 70000.
