As per the previous year’s trend, this opening has 2 rounds. Both are technical Interviews.

Note: It was an off-campus opportunity. My College- Tier 3.

Applying and Resume Screening:

As I have an excellent coding profile and a LinkedIn profile as well, I expected to get a referral this time. I tried for almost 1 week. Not got a single one. Eventually one of my batchmates and junior somehow managed a referral for me but I applied for the job just one day ago. Don’t worry because I know at Google even after applying job the referral works. So, just accept the referral and ya done.

I have a strong belief in my profile that, I will definitely receive the First round link at least. And ya that happened. But it was after 1.5 months later. In between this time, many of my connections got the link already, I was just frustrated, but I finally received the Phone call from Google.

Telephonic Call (10 Minutes):

For others, they scheduled 15-20 minutes of G-Meet and discussed any past experiences or projects, etc. means from the resume they discussed, but in my case, it was partially skipped. They called me two times at intervals of 1 hour, I couldn’t receive it because I was sleeping. Then, when woke up in the afternoon, I checked my phone and was shocked, two calls from Google itself. Then quickly I call back and ya then we discussed about my introduction, internship brief, my coding language prefer in the interview and ya, that’s it about this call.

Technical Round 1 (45 Minutes):

As after the telephonic call, on the same day I received the Interview link of Round 1 on (x+4)th day. Means I had 3 Full days and 1 half (almost finished) for the preparation. At the 10.55am (as my interview was 11am), I send a request for join the meet and at 11.00am accepted. At first he introduce himself and then ask about myself. Then he directly jump to the Google Docs for the question.

The question was based on Company hierarchy and salary. Solved using N-ary Tree. (Sorry I can’t share the exact question here) But the question is easy enough, if you are good with Tree and DFS. First he asked me about the approach and I take 1/2 minutes and then explained the approach easily. Then he suggest me to write code, I started with Binary Tree as the sample test case given, I can’t think more, then he correct me and said use Generic tree. Ya, then I write easily the code. After, the first question, he gave another follow up question of the first one with slight harder. I code it, but didn’t gave any feedback. and the time already was 50+ minutes. And we just talked later on the experiences on google and few questions etc and wrapped up within 55 minutes.

PS: Not received any update till now for the second Interview. (I will update here, whatever will receive)
