How Many Subjects are there in the GATE Exam?

As of 2024, there are a total of 30 subjects available in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). All the details of the subjects along with their Syllabus are mentioned below. You can also appear for more than one paper in the GATE Exam. Details for the two paper combinations are also available in this article. From the current year, a new paper on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence has been added to the GATE.

GATE Exam Subjects with Paper Codes XH, XL, and XE

GATE Exam Subjects like XE, XH, and XL have their particular sub-papers, which are optional. The GATE exam is a total of 100 marks. Out of 100, 15 marks are reserved for General Aptitude (GA), which is common for all the papers. The remaining 85 marks are specific to the respective paper syllabus.
