Section – 1

Firstly we were given a form to fill in our academic details like our class 10 percentage, 10+2 percentage, Average B.Tech SGPA/CGPA, etc. Then after registration, we received our login credentials for the Round -1 Assessment which was done in AMCAT (SHL) platform. The test consisted of following –

  • Mainly the test was divided into 3 sections –
    1. Aptitude – It consisted of general math-based aptitude questions. The difficulty was easy to medium.
    2. Logical Reasoning and Verbal – This consisted of logical reasoning questions, English MCQs like synonyms, antonyms, comprehension, voice change, etc. Other than that it consisted of easy to medium-level logical reasoning questions based on Number Series, different logical games, letter series, etc.
    3. 2 Coding Questions – This section consisted of 2 coding questions, now the difficulty varied for everyone, some people got 2 very easy questions and some got one easy and one very hard level question. Most of the questions were from Array, String, LinkedList, Graph, etc.

The Coding questions carried the most weightage, as those who didn’t score good marks in the Logical section or Aptitude section but got full marks for coding were selected for the next round.

Section – 2

After the conclusion of the online test part, the selected candidates were called to attend an in-person Technical and HR interview on our college campus. The reporting time was 9:30 A.M. First 1 hour was a Pre Placement talk then after that they divided the candidates based on their college and ask 10 people to stand in a queue for their Technical Interview. The questions asked in my technical interview are given below –

I had a project on Deep Learning (Chatbot) and a Telegram Bot mentioned in my Resume.

  • First Qs was to introduce myself in the technical aspect, which means that say only my name, my project domain, and my favorite subject of B.Tech to date.
  • Then after hearing that the interviewer asked me for my Resume. Then he told me to explain the ChatBot project.
  • The chatbot I made was a little unique than the other chatbots available, it was voice-enabled, which means the user can use voice commands to control it and it would reply using voice too. He was interested in that very much. I also made a screen recording of the chatbot in working condition and uploaded it on youtube and put the link in my Resume, so during the explanation, I told the interviewer that I can show you the chatbot in working condition without my laptop or anything. This step was a very good stroke because then the interviewer will have no question in their mind that this project has been copied from the internet.
  • He didn’t ask me a single question about the favorite subject I told in my B.Tech. He listened to the project, then I showed the demo and that was it. He then asked me if I have any questions, I asked about the role which will be offered, what would be the training period, in which technology we would be trained, etc. Then the technical interview was finished.

TIP: If you have a solid project in your Resume and can show the live demo to the interviewer then they might not ask you any more questions. So don’t neglect the project, it carries the maximum weightage for your Resume.

Section – 3

Those who were selected from the Technical Interview were called to attend the HR interview on the spot on campus, or offline. There were two options given to us.

  • Online HR interview – The college will provide us with a laptop and headphones etc. We have to give the online HR interview from the college using their device only.
  • Offline HR Interview – Just like the technical interview, candidates need to sit in front of HR offline in person and give an HR interview.

The Online option was given to us because the HR was in Bangalore at that time so it was impossible for him to take an offline HR interview.

I opted for the online HR interview because it was quicker. The questions are below –

  • He also asked me to introduce myself, but this was a proper introduction. Like my name, where I live, how many members are there in my family, if any of my family members are in IT, what are my hobbies, etc.
  • Then he asked me about the city I live in i.e. Kolkata, like what are the famous monuments of Kolkata, what are the types of food available in Kolkata, etc.
  • Then he asked me to rate myself based on my technical knowledge, I said 7 and gave the reason that I will not say that I know everything but I am confident enough with the things I know. He was impressed listened to that and replied very well.
  • Then he asked me about my location preference.
  • I practice a foreign language, I also said that and this was like the game changer. He said, “You should have said it earlier, then I would not have asked you other questions”.

TIP: If you have something extra which is beneficial for the companies do mention that even if they don’t ask you. As they always try to find people who are unique to others, who have something extra to present to the table rather than normal people.

Verdict –

I was selected.
