The hiring process consisted of 4 rounds :

  • Online assessment Round
  • Group Discussion Round
  • Technical Interview Round 1
  • Technical Interview Round 2

Online Assessment Round: The assessment consisted of three components:

Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning Section: This round was comprised of 25 multiple choice questions that required some knowledge of basic mathematics and reasoning.

Verbal and GK Section: This round consisted of 25 multiple choice questions that required some basic knowledge of English grammar like prepositions, sentence jumbling, etc., and some questions using knowledge of current general affairs.

Data Interpretation Section: This round consisted of 25 multiple choice questions that require knowledge of basic data interpretation. In data interpretation, we are given data in the form of visuals, like a table, graph, chart, etc., and a set of questions that follow. The results were announced after a month of online assessment, Around 250 students appeared for the Online Assessment Round and 60 were shortlisted for the group discussion round.

Group Discussion Round: We were provided a Microsoft team link for the meeting. First of all, the interviewer introduced himself and asked us to introduce ourselves. ourselves shared the topic for group discussion which was “Scope of Engineers in Financial Sector”. I suppose the topic was fairly easy and I was able to quickly decide what to speak. The group discussion round was held in groups of 10, everyone was given a chance to speak. Just practice a little bit of speaking and you will be easy to go. 

The results were announced the same day for group discussion. Among 60 students appeared for the group discussion round and 30 were shortlisted for the interview round 1.

Technical Interview Round 1: We were again provided with a Microsoft team link for the meeting. The interviewer introduced himself and asked me to introduce myself.  Then he asked me to describe my projects the discussion took 5 minutes and then he quickly jumped on asking some basic questions on cybersecurity concepts. Then we had a 10-minute discussion on the different types of threats to modern-day cyber systems and how to overcome them. So basically this interview was all about asking for basic knowledge of cybersecurity.

The results were announced within an hour of the interview. Among 30 students only 10 were eligible for the last round of the interview.

Technical Interview Round 2:  We were again provided with a Microsoft team link for the meeting. The interviewer introduced himself and asked me to introduce myself. Then he quickly escalated asking questions from software development, What is SDLC, Explain SDLC with examples. What is waterfall model, etc. He then asked me basics of OOPS and moved again to concepts of cybersecurity. Moreover than an interview we discussed a lot of concepts. 

The interview ended after a discussion on the work culture at EY India. The Results were announced after 7 days and 4 people were selected for the role of Senior Analyst (Business Consulting Risk) and I was one among them. Most important topics to prepare for EY India for this role are:

  • Concepts of Cyber Security.
  • Software Development.
  • OOPS
  • Data Interpretation
  • Quants and Reasoning
