There were a total of 5 rounds in the interview process:

Round 1: Resume-Based Shortlisting

I got shortlisted in this round based on my resume.

Round 2: Online Assessment (Duration: 1 Hr for DSA + 20 mins for aptitude)**

In this round, there were 20 aptitude questions and 4 DSA problems.

  • The aptitude questions were very easy, and the DSA questions consisted of 2 easy ones and 2 medium difficult ones, often based on concepts like Binary Search (e.g., Chocolate Distribution problem).

I was able to solve all four DSA problems and the aptitude questions, which led to my shortlisting for the next interview.

Round 3: Technical Interview (Duration: 1 Hr)

The interviewer began by discussing my projects, spending about 10-15 minutes on them. Afterwards, we delved into various topics:

  • Differences between MySQL and NoSQL databases, and why I chose MySQL.
  • Discussion of the four pillars of Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs), including topics like inheritance, the static keyword, and constructors.
  • DSA questions, starting with a string-based problem, which I successfully solved.

A second DSA problem related to array sorting, which I also managed to solve. The interviewer seemed impressed, and I advanced to the next round.

Round 4: Advanced Technical Interview (Duration: 1.5 Hr)

In this round, the interviewer continued to inquire about my projects, particularly focusing on the usage of SpringBoot.

  • Some of the questions included explanations of terms like “Bean” and “data annotation.” The discussion on projects took approximately 15-20 minutes.

Afterwards, we moved on to:

  • DBMS topics cover ACID properties, queries, and a scenario-based problem that requires solving using ACID properties. We discussed these for around 15-20 minutes
  • More DSA questions, starting with a string-based problem (which I solved), followed by a more complex problem that involved both graphs and sorting.

This problem took some time to understand due to a lack of clarity from the interviewer, but eventually, I managed to solve it.

Round 5: HR Interview (Duration: 30 Minutes)

This interview was relatively straightforward. The HR interviewer asked about my background, education, family, and plans.

Finally, I received the good news of my selection for the Full-Time Employment (FTE) position.
