CUET is an entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India for undergraduate courses in central universities. Its primary objective is to streamline the admission process for various central universities in India and replace multiple university-specific entrance exams. CUET stands for “Common University Entrance Test. The CUET UG examination takes place in over 300 cities throughout India, including a total of 13 mediums, namely English, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Odia, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Urdu. The examination is conducted on an online platform. The duration of the CUET examination is dependent upon the selection of subjects made by the candidate.

When is CUET 2024?

The CUET 2024 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from May 15 to May 31, 2024. The NTA is likely to release the CUET 2024 application form in February of 2024. Applicants will soon be able to fill out the CUET 2024 application form at cuet.samarth.ac.in, the official website for CUET 2024. The application process for CUET 2024 is online. Students will be required to submit the CUET 2024 application form via the official website. Before filling out the application form, those who plan to sit for the CUET in 2024 ought to familiarize themselves with the eligibility criteria. They should be familiar with the CUET 2024 curriculum. NTA will publish the date of the CUET in 2024 on its official website. More than 250 universities offer admission through CUET 2024, including the Central Universities, the State Universities, the Deemed Universities, the Private Universities, and other Universities. Those wishing to enrol in undergraduate and postgraduate courses at all central universities and other CUET-participating universities must sit for the CUET 2024 examination. The NTA (National Testing Agency) administers the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) at the national level for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

The upcoming CUET 2024 event has been officially scheduled to take place from May 15th to May 31st, 2024. The official examination date for the undergraduate program, CUTE UG, and the postgraduate program, CUET PG, has been declared by the National Testing Agency. In order to maximize their CUET score, candidates are advised to be aware of the scheduled date of the CUET examination and adequately prepare for it. The anticipated release date for the CUET 2024 application is expected to be in February 2024.

What are the eligibility criteria for CUET 2024?

In order to fulfil the conditions necessary for eligibility to take the CUET examination for undergraduate course admissions, candidates must complete the following requirements. Please be advised that the eligibility criteria provided here are based on the analysis of the previous year. The specific eligibility requirements for CUET 2024 UG will be communicated after the application form for 2024 is released.

1. Academic Qualifications

In order to be eligible for admission to bachelor’s degree programs in the Central Universities, students must have successfully completed Class 12 or be currently enrolled in Class 12 from a recognized board, in the required stream. In the General category, students are required to attain a minimum of 50 percent in their Class 12 examinations to be eligible for the CUET 2024. However, for SC/ST candidates, a minimum of 45 percent in Class 12 is necessary to meet the eligibility criteria for the CUET 2024.

2. Age Limit

With regard to Age Criteria, applicants will be required to meet the age requirements (if any) of the universities in which they seek admission. Existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, preferences, etc. of the respective University shall be applicable for admission to universities through CUET (UG).

3. Nationality

In order to be eligible for the CUET Exam, candidates must adhere to the following citizenship requirements:

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • A constituent subject of Nepal, Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee who landed in India before 1 January 1962 to make India their permanent home and reside there permanently.
  • Permanently relocating Pakistanis, Burmese, Sri Lankans, Kenyans, Ugandans, Tanzanians, Zambians, Malawians, Zaireans, Ethiopians, and Vietnamese.

CUET 2024 Exam Pattern

According to the CUET 2024 exam format, the examination consists of three sections. In the first section, candidates’ Language Skills will be evaluated through Reading Comprehension questions. The second section will be based on the chosen subject, and the third section will consist of General Knowledge, Current Events, Mathematics, and Logical and Analytical Reasoning. CUET 2024: Subjects and Sections

The subjects are arranged into three sections according to the CUET exam pattern:

1. IA and IB include Language

IA includes Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu.

IB include French, Spanish, German, Nepali, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Santhali, Tibetan, Japanese, Russian, and Chinese.

2. Section II – Domain Topic

3. Section III- General Exam

For each subject, the candidates will be given 45 minutes. However, the duration of the exam will be 60 minutes in disciplines such as Accountancy, Economics, Physics, Computer Science / Informatics Practices, Chemistry and Mathematics / Applied Mathematics, and General Tests. Candidates can select up to ten subjects when completing the CUET application form. They must, however, check the eligibility criteria of the university and program to which they seek to apply.
