Hello readers! Abitatha this side. I am currently a 2nd-semester student at Cluster Innovation Centre, University of Delhi, more popularly known as DU CIC, pursuing my B.Tech in Information Technology and Mathematical Innovations. In this article, I will share with you my admission experience at my institute.

In order to be eligible for this course, one has to have passed Class 12th with Mathematics as a subject. The merit list available through Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) is prepared using the marks scored in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) in the following subjects:

  1. A language paper (from Section A of CUET UG)
  2. Mathematics / Applied Mathematics
  3. General Test

Aspiring students should keep in mind that scores obtained in any other subject will not be considered for this particular course. Once you are done with the registration process on the CSAS portal and have filled up this course as one of your choices, you just need to sit back and relax, while waiting for the seat allocation rounds to commence. Once your seat has been allocated, the program fees paid and your data accepted by the office, you will have to be present on the campus on the date informed by the institute. For instance, our orientation was on 16th August 2023, a day after our 77th Independence Day. As our country got its independence, we, the newly admitted college students embarked on a new journey where we would no longer have the direct support of our parents for our day-to-day activities. Does it resonate with Rabindranath’s “Ekla Cholo Re?” Maybe, just maybe.

Bouncing right into our original topic, I got my seat frozen after the Round 1 allocation. Students pouring in through the rounds 1 and 2 attended our orientation session on 16th, where we and our parents were greeted by our teachers and mentors for the next four years, got our institute and our course introduced to us, and got a sneak-peek into the multiverse of opportunities that CIC exclusively and DU in general would offer us. It was a day to live our dreams, occasionally having to spend some energy and in Sathya Sai Baba’s words, exert some “Constant Integrated Awareness” to convince us that it was no longer a dream, but a lively reality to be able to study in a premier institution of India.

I would like to mention some other important details here. Students must have with them the original printouts and Xerox copies of the following documents:

  • ID proof
  • Class 10th and 12th certificates
  • CUET UG scorecard
  • Character / Transfer Certificate
  • Migration Certificate

Beyond this, I can assure you that your admission process will be very smooth and there will always be people to aid you whenever you feel lost in this city of dreams and this University of aspirations. My best wishes with every student who are appearing for the current exam season. God bless you.
