The selection process for Assam Rifles recruitment is expected to include four rounds before final selection. These are Physical Standard Test (PST)/Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written Test, Trade Test (Skill Test), Medical and Review Medical Test, and Merit List.

  • The Assam Rifles written exam is to be conducted in offline mode and will be objective type in nature, having 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  • The written exam will have 4 different sections – English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and General Awareness; Each section has 25 questions with equal weightage, aka each question being of 1 mark.

  • There is no mention of negative marking in the Assam Rifles written exam.
  • The minimum passing mark for General/EWS candidates is 35% and the minimum passing mark for SC/ST/OBC candidates is 33%.
  • NCC certificate holders are provisionally given incentive marks which are added to the normal scores of candidates; However the benefit to NCC certificate holders is only given on production of the original certificate supporting their claims during document verification.

Trade/Skill Test

  • Technical and Tradesmen personnel (other than Clerks & PA) have to undergo a trade test after the successful completion of the written test, which is qualifying in nature.
