Cisco Interview Experience for SWE

I will be sharing my whole experience of Interviews at Cisco for the position of Software Engineer.

We had an ideation in June 2022. It consisted of 1 OA round, an Idea submission round, and 3 interview rounds. The idea submission round was a non-elimination round. The rest all were elimination rounds.

Following is the brief of all the rounds that I had:

Round 1: (DSA, Aptitude, and CS fundamentals)

• There were 10 questions based on Computer Networks.
• 10 questions on Aptitude
• One medium-level DSA question

I was able to complete all the MCQs as well as coding questions within time. If you have studied Computer Networks subject in college thoroughly then you can answer them easily.

Round 2: (Idea submission round)

We were given 2 problem statements:

• Create a system that can remind us of the expiration of medicines.
• Whenever there is communication between 2 entities in a network, and the signal breaks in between, how can we identify the root cause of the signal breakage?

I chose the second problem statement and created a PPT that was submitted.

Round 3: (Technical Interview)

There were 2 interviewers. Firstly they asked me to introduce myself and then I was asked to present my PPT. Then they asked questions related to my idea which were mostly based on Computer Networks.
The second interviewer then asked me DSA questions which were based on Array/Linked List, Trees, and Arithmetic pointers. After that, they asked questions related to my resume, the projects, and skills that I had mentioned.

Round 4: (Managerial Interview)

Again, there were 2 managers. They asked me to give an introduction and a brief of my idea. And all the projects and skills mentioned in the resume. They also asked whether I have knowledge about Cloud and ML. I was asked some HR questions as well such as how do I manage stress and teamwork and all.

Round 5: (HR Interview)

He asked to introduce and then some questions like Why Cisco, what are the most famous products of Cisco and who are the competitors of Cisco. 

And that was the last round after which we were selected and offered Intern+Full time.
