Staff Selection Commission conducts a Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) exam every year to recruit eligible candidates for various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts in different Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of the Government of India.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2024 for Tier I

The SSC CGL Tier I exam pattern is divided into four papers i.e. General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. CGL Tier I consists of 100 multiple-choice questions for 200 marks.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2024 for Tier II

The SSC CGL Tier II exam pattern is subdivided into three papers, i.e. Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III. 

Paper-I is compulsory for all the posts. Paper II will be for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Statistical Investigator Grade II, and Paper III will be for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

  • There shall be a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer in Section-I, Section-II and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I and 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer in Paper-II and Paper-III.
  • Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I i.e. Computer Knowledge Test is compulsory but qualifying in nature.
  • The marks obtained in CGL Tier II will be considered to determine the final merit of the candidates.
