Hey people,

I will be sharing with you about this super winter I spent interning at the Amazon Development Center in Bangalore. Yes!! I was right there in the tech hub, getting hands-on experience at one of the biggest names in the game. Buckle up, ’cause I’m about to spill the beans on my Amazon India adventure!

First things first, the whole journey kicked off with a pretty thorough onboarding process. They introduced me to my team, fellow interns, and mentors. The vibe was super friendly, and they made sure we got the lowdown on Amazon’s work style, their core principles, and the cool projects they had going on in India. Honestly, the warm welcome made me feel like part of the gang from day one. The initial days were kept specifically for this purpose. No work, just interacting and understanding the systems.

You might be wondering where I landed actually. So it was the Software Development team! My mission? Diving into this awesome project that aimed to make the Amazon shopping experience even better. Imagine working on something that helps shoppers during the craziest shopping seasons. Yeah, I was pretty psyched about it.

Talking about my mentors, they were like my guiding stars. My mentor was this seasoned player who didn’t just help me navigate the project but also gave me the inside scoop on how Amazon does its thing. We had regular pow-wows where I could ask about tech challenges and soak up all that practical wisdom.

Apart from this, Amazon hooked us up with workshops and tech talks. I got schooled in cloud computing, got a crash course in machine learning, and even got the lowdown on agile development. It was like this treasure trove of knowledge that made me feel like I was leveling up in the tech world.

Let’s talk about the vibe. The team felt more like a bunch of pals than just colleagues. Everyone was cool with sharing ideas and lending a hand. And innovation? It was like the secret sauce of every project. Making things better for Amazon’s customers was the name of the game.

Now comes the project part. Although i worked on many different small projects but according to the internal policies, i can’t share much of the details here. But overall it was Intense(in a good way though :P). They made me put on my thinking cap and come up with smart solutions to some pretty complex problems. It was like a boot camp for my problem-solving skills, and I loved every second of it.

Tech-wise, I got to play around with some cool stuff. Think Java, Python, and JavaScript – all those coding superheroes. Plus, I got a taste of AWS, Amazon’s cloud magic that keeps everything running smoothly.

Now, to wrap it all up, my Amazon India winter gig was way more than I bargained for. Real projects, awesome mentors, and a team that felt like family – it was the full package. The internship was like a sneak peek into my future career in software development, where innovation and making customers happy take the spotlight. I’m stoked to put all I’ve learned into action and be part of the tech scene in India!
