No one can deny that choosing the right college is one of the most crucial parts of a student’s life. With so many options and varying reviews on various sites, it becomes challenging to gain an honest insight into the institute. In this post, I will be describing the admission process in ABESEC in detail. So, for all the college hunters out there, you can definitely rely on this.

ABESEC:

Academy of Business and Engineering Sciences or as we commonly know it as ABESEC is one of the most reputed colleges affiliated with AKTU. Established in 2000, it has been ranked 1 in AKTU and holds the record of being a Grade A college accredited by NAAC. With programs like B.Tech, MBA, and MCA available here, ABESEC has paved its way as a rising institute. With top-notch placements and academics, students eagerly want to be admitted here.

I am a B.Tech student pursuing Computer Science from here and will share my admission experience in this college.

Application Procedure:

There are two ways through which students can apply to take admission to the B.Tech program in ABES:

1) Direct Admission:

This is done on the basis of class 12th PCM score in Board Exams followed by a basic aptitude test.

Students have to login into ABESEC’s official website and apply for admission directly by paying a nominal application fee.

2) AKTU Counselling:

This is done on the basis of JEE Mains score. Students have to fill the counselling form available on AKTU’s website and fill the priority order of the desired branch and institute. If eligible, students get offered their preferred choices which they have to freeze by paying the counselling fee (which is refundable).

I applied through counselling and my first choice was ABESEC only which I got, later I freeze the seat by paying 20K which was later adjusted in the college fees.

Eligibility Criteria:

While different branches have different eligibility criterion, to get the top branches like CSE, CSE AIML, CSE DS or IT, students have to get a minimum of 80% in PCM in Board exams for direct admission and around 70 percentile in JEE Mains exam.

I scored a decent percentile and easily got my preferred branch (CSE).

Payment of Fees and Admission Confirmation:

Once, I have confirmed the seat through counselling, I had to pay the college fees within 10-15 days to confirm my admission. It was done through NEFT. The process was same for Direct Admission as well. Once, the payment was made, our seat was confirmed, and we had to do a physical reporting in college.

Important Documents:

After confirming the seat, we had to do a physical reporting in college to submit important documents as well. I reported in the morning the next day and got a campus tour. Later, we headed to Seminar Hall, where we had to submit our documents. Th list of documents was conveyed to us through our email where got the dates of our physical reporting as well.

Th documents were as follows:

  • JEE Main Admit Card and Scorecard
  • Mark Sheets for Class 10th and 12th
  • Candidates belonging to restricted categories (such as SC/ST/OBC) are normally needed to produce a valid category certificate issued by the competent government.
  • Migration/Transfer Certificate
  • Character Certificate
  • Adhaar Card or other identification evidence
  • Passport-sized pictures
  • Medical certificate issued by CMO.

Note: Original certificates were to be presented which were later returned to the students after the commencement of the semester.

All in all, it was a different kind of experience than I ever faced before. There was a sense of excitement as well as fear of the unknown lying in this journey, but everything was smoothly conducted, now I am a part of this college and life is better than ever.
