Yamaha conducted placement drive in (J. C. Bose University of Science and Technology); Formally, YMCA Faridabad on 10th of august 2023. In total 268 students appeared for the placement.

Bond: 2 Years (6 months internship + 1.5 Full Time)

Bond Panelty: 1 Lac.

On that day, they took a pre-placement talk in university auditorium. They gave the introduction of their company, work culture, domains of working etc. Students asked some of the questions during pre-placement talk, some of them which were:

  • Do company provide travel accommodation?
    • An HR of Yamaha, who was on stage during pre-placement talk, said no.
  • A student asked about the CTC breakdown.
    • They said that it is confidential. We can’t tell you about that. You would come to know in offer letter, if you selected once.
  • Why Yamaha takes HR round before Technical?
    • An HR said, it’s a good question. We takes this round before, because by this we check the ability of a person to present itself. If you are not able to present yourself, then your technical skills don’t matter for us.

The process of placement was as follows:

  • First Round (10th Aug, 2023): All of the students are said to register on firstnaukri.com before one day of round 1 (i.e. 9 aug), All of the students, who made registrations are allowed to sit in front of the computer for an online MCQ test at firstnaukri’s portal. This test contains 70 questions of MCQ type needed to be solve in 80 minutes. The domains of the questions were: Quantitive, Verbal, DBMS, OOPS, C, C++, JAVA. There was no negative marking in this test. The result decalred nearly 2:30 PM. 68 students were shortlisted on the basis of cutoff. There was different cutoff for both (Technical section and Aptitude). So only those were selected, who passed the cutoff of both sections.
  • Psychometric test (10th Aug, 2023): It was a non-elimination round, all 68 students were eligible for this. There were some basic questions needed to answer related with our personality.
  • HR Round (11th august): All 68 students go through HR Round. In this round, there was mix type of questions like puzzle, project based and some of the behavioral questions. Puzzles are much likely to asked in this round. Like they ask me a puzzle that:
    • First one was: Name a thing, which can fill the entire room and costs 10 Rs. only.
    • Second puzzle was: What was need to fill at the place of “?” and answer is not 6.
      • 1 2 3
      • 4 5 ?
    • In total 40 students cleared this round and head towards the Technical Interview Round.
  • Technical Interview (11 Aug, 2023): In this round, they will ask technical + project-based questions. For this round, you must be prepared with goof knowledge OOPS, DBMS and SQL Queries. They asked me the type of joins in SQL and some of the DBMS and OOPS questions. Note that you must be clear about the project. They will ask you cross questions. For DSA, you should focus more on basic Data Structures like Arrays, LinkedList and some algorithms like Two-pointers, Greedy. Most of the time, they ask just an easy-medium question. You will not find it difficult. 22 Students were able to clear the round.
  • CTO Round (14th Aug, 2023): This is an on-site round, which takes place in their either Yamaha, Faridabad or Noida office. CTO stands for Chiff Technology Officer. He asks some of the basic questions from you and judges you on the basis of answers. Some of the questions are:
    • Introduce yourself.
    • Tell about your family background.
    • Some situations-based questions etc.

As today is 14th August 2023. So, this round is taking place today. Most Probably they will select 8-12 students out of 22.

Tips: Core subjects are an essential, like some most important are DBMS, SQL (Query Questions), OOPS. These will be asked in Technical very much. Intermediate level DSA is enough, they won’t ask much hard questions in Technical. The art of handling behavioral questions is a must.
