In 2022 during the starting phase of my BSc 6th(Final) Semester I got offer letter from letter and few days later I got joining date too. I was pursuing Computer Science Honours at that time and since it was post COVID period so classes are operating on online mode only, but few colleges were starting to conduct classes in offline mode too, our college was one of them as it was under Calcutta University. But luckily initial work of Wipro was held in online mode.

3-4 Days later after joining they send me a parcel where I got a Laptop (Used by someone else), a headphone and some goodies. I was really happy at that time.

Trainings:

Before Joining We are gone through PJP (Pre Joining Program). Basically we were given some modules on their learning site and we had to complete all of them. But most of the students does not complete them on time. I was one of them. So after joining we first gone through PRP (Project Readiness Program). Those who successfully completed PJP they were assigned to fast track batch, they got only 20 days of training. After thay got allocated to projects.

After completing PRP we had to gone through a coding exam and also a MCQ based exam. I cleared the exam at the first attempt. Few days later my manager contacted me and assigned me to a project.

Apart from PRP we all gone through lots of different kind of trainings, e.g., Behavioural trainings and all the features of Wipro Portal and lots of different things.

About my Project:

I was assigned to a testing project and my designation was Test Engineer. I was in QA (Quality Assurance) Team. Basically I had to write test cases on Excel Sheet. Later they tough me lots of things like Postman API testing and other stuffs.

Pros:

Honestly speaking there is very little amount of good things to speak about Wipro. Most of the things are just bad.

  1. Managers are very humble and friendly.
  2. Maintains a very good Work Life Balance.
  3. They have a strong ethics on Behavioral Traits, does not allow any seniors to dominate over any freshers and teaches everyone to respect every single person no matter who they are.

Cons:

  1. Wipro has a series management issue. Everything is Disconnected. I am from WILP program and my manager does not ever heard the term.
  2. During PJP I faced lot of issues. Their platform is worse. It’s very slow and most of the times it’s broken.
  3. In PRP program the instructor supposed to join the meeting and train us. But instead she provide us video recordings and goes some where else.
  4. Project allocation is also very bad. My performance is very good compared to other students in my batch, but I got testing project and lots of them got development project who does not even know how to write a single line of code; off course they are from other backgrounds (like ECE, ME, EEE etc). It leads to 5th point.
  5. The training batch was consist of both BTECH and BSc. All the 38 students are from BTECH and 2 students including myself was from BSc. But we will do the same work on same project but they will get higher salary just because of their background.
  6. BTECH Students was also provided with Mac Books and we got a old used windows laptop.
  7. I get to know that MTECH will start next year.
  8. We will have to take the huge project load knowing that we are just scholar trainee and we have to do study too. we are to even considered as full time employee but when it comes to works pressure we will be given at full.
  9. Also we have to face lots of problem in laptop and most of time was wasted in call with support assistant.
  10. I have to visit my nearest Kolkata office although my actual location was in Gurgaon.
  11. Visiting office was also very hectic and I don’t have any id card. So manually I had to write mail to security putting manager in cc. Also for fixing the laptop I had to face huge amount of difficulties and can’t even expressed here.
  12. There were also lots of another small issues which together makes a great impact, Honestly Wipro is not good for BSc and BCA Students at all.

After working for 7 months I left Wipro and go for MCA.
