What is SAP Fiori?

SAP Fiori is an entirely new user interface (UI) for SAP software and applications. It offers a collection of applications used in routine business functions such as work approvals, financial apps, calculation apps, and various self-service apps. SAP Fiori provides all business roles on compatible hand devices in real time. It provides business roles on simple, easy-to-use functions with unrivaled responsiveness on desktops, smartphones, and tablets. SAP Fiori supports multiple device applications, allowing users to start a process on their desktop/laptop and continue it on a smartphone or tablet. SAP has created Fiori Apps that are based on the User Interface UI5.

Types of Application in SAP Fiori:

SAP Fiori assists users with a variety of SAP business tasks, such as creating or tracking purchase orders, monitoring for new business opportunities, and displaying invoices. To create consistent applications, developers use SAP Fiori elements that serve as design templates. SAP Fiori apps are classified into three types. They are differentiated based on their function and infrastructure requirements.

  • Transactional Apps
  • Fact sheets
  • Analytical Apps

Transactional Apps:

  • SAP Fiori’s initial release included 25 transactional apps.
  • SAP transactional apps Fiori are used for transactional tasks such as manager-employee transactions such as leave requests, travel requests, and so on.
  • Transactional Apps perform best on the SAP HANA database, but they can be deployed with any database that provides adequate performance. These apps enable users to perform simple SAP transactions on mobile devices as well as desktop or laptop computers.
  • Example: Purchase Order, Leave Request, Travel Request.

Fact Sheets:

  • Fact sheets are used in business operations to drill down on key information and contextual information. You can drill down to more details in SAP Fiori tiles.
  • It also allows you to navigate from one fact sheet to all of the fact sheets that are related to it.
  • You can also use fact sheets to navigate to Transactional apps and run SAP transactions. A few Fact sheets also include a geographical map integration option.
  • Fact sheets can be accessed via Fiori Launchpad search results, other fact sheets, or Transactional or Analytical apps.
  • Fact sheets are only available on the SAP HANA database and require an ABAP stack; they cannot be ported to the SAP HANA Live tier-2 architecture.
  • Example: There is a fact sheet app with the vendor contract details in the center objects. You can drill down to more specifics such as vendor information, contract terms, item information, and so on.

Analytical Apps:

  • Analytical apps are used to deliver role-based real-time data about business operations. Analytical apps combine SAP HANA’s power with the SAP business suite. It displays real-time data from a large volume of data in a front-end web browser.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) can be closely monitored using analytical apps. You can perform complex aggregations and calculations for your business operations and react instantly to changes in market conditions.
  • SAP Fiori Analytical apps use Virtual data models and run on the SAP HANA database.
  • Example: Sales Performance Analysis, Profitability Analysis, Inventory Overview

Conclusion:

SAP created the Fiori design concept and collection of apps to enhance the user experience inside its software suite. Fiori focuses on role-based access, consistency, and simplicity to make corporate software more efficient and easy to use. Businesses that utilize Fiori may gain from a more contemporary user interface, more productivity, and better user happiness.
