Round 1 Computer exam (1 hour)

The first stage of the selection process included an online aptitude exam which was aimed at testing mathematical and logical reasoning skills. The questions were tough, as they had topics such as probability, algebra, and data interpretation. It was all about time management as there were representations for which the levels of difficulty increased multiple times. This round was basically to see the candidate’s problem-solving ability and critical thinking.

Round 2 Analytical Written Test (90 minutes)

In the second round, the team assessed the candidate’s skills in using C++ programming and the concept of embedded systems. The test revolved around the coding part, the questions were related to data structures, algorithms, and real-world problem-solving scenarios. Moreover, there was an inquiry linked to embedded system concepts and their role. In this round, the candidates were granted a chance to be evaluated based on their programming skills and how they applied theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios.

Round 3 Technical Interview – Embedded Systems (1 hour session)

This round was even fiercer than the previous one and took a deeper look into the candidate’s view of embedded systems. The interviewer asked questions on topics like real-time OS, memory management, and hardware interfacing. The candidate was also presented with a simulation-based question on why you should use the fast memory of the embedded system. The focus was more on the assessment of the candidate’s skills to develop viable and practical solutions for operation in limited resources conditions.

Round 4 Technical Interview – C++ (Clarifies in 45 Minutes)

The C++ technical interview examined the aspirant’s competence in object-oriented programming, data structures, and also algorithms. The interviewer was talking about polymorphism, inheritance, and memory management in C++. Moreover, the candidate tackled the coding challenge that was shared through a shared code editor thereby assessing their coding skills and ability to write clean and efficient code.

Round 5 Interview with HR (30 minutes)

They ended up with the HR interview in the final round to test the interviewee’s communication skills, cultural fit, and also how excited he/she was about the role. The interviewer inquired about why the job applicant wants to work for Wastefull Insights, why they have chosen this career as a path, and also how one reacts to challenges in a team setting. The first interview round wanted to master the candidate’s character, work methodology, and also adherence to the company’s values.

Post-Interview Process:

Then, I successfully made a passage through the subsequent rounds and I was offered a position of Software Engineer in Wastefull Insights. The compensation package was 5L and 1 yearly performance Bonus of 50K. The particular issue of the firm with waste management via embedded systems and AI/ML made it so intriguing to join a team that works on paradigm-shifting solutions and works with the latest tech. Ultimately, the interviewing experience was hard but joyful, and I am very happy to embark on my Wasteful Insights career.
