I am Saurav Kesari. I am writing this article to share my campus experience at Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. I hope it will be useful for you.

I studied computer science at Veer Narmad South Gujarat University in Surat for my postgraduate degree, earning an MCA (Master of Computer Application). Overall, the pandemic caused a variety of ups and downs during the college experience. For a significant portion of the Programme, I was unable to attend college, but the few days I did were packed with fresh insights and knowledge at every turn.

About the campus:-

The campus was separated into wings that represented the numerous disciplines and branches because it was a university. It has solar-powered panels, contemporary classrooms, cutting-edge laboratories, a large-seating amphitheater, a sports wing, a massive library, a relaxation area, a placement cell, a swimming pool, a badminton court, a volleyball court, a cricket ground, a hockey ground, a football ground, an athlete ground and a campus canteen that provides delectable meals.

In the middle of the university, there was a pond where you could go and relax. The campus had various departments like Arts, Chemistry, biotechnology, Education, Commerce, Social studies, etc. So you could make various friends and join various other clubs. The campus is so green and calm. It had lots of departments, so you could participate in any event or competition that was organized by various departments on a monthly basis.

First-Year Experience:-

In my largely online first year of college, I met new people and got to know seniors who were supportive of my social integration. Every day I had the chance to learn something new, primarily via exploring curriculum-related topics. A college community group helped me increase my knowledge in this field and even teach me about numerous concepts as my passion in web development grew. Even the most challenging subjects were taught in an approachable way by the supporting teachers. In addition to the theoretical sessions, frequent laboratories were held where a strong emphasis on practical knowledge was maintained. Each student’s questions were personally addressed by professors during weekly question-and-answer sessions.

Weekly assignments were provided by teachers to students to help them develop a good understanding of the topic they had taught during lectures. If anyone had any doubts related to assignments, they could raise them with the teachers, and they helped those students.

Final Year Experience:–

The classes switched back to offline mode for the final year, giving us another chance to catch up with our friends and experience life without COVID-19. All of the final-year students were anxious because it was the placement season. The instructors and mentors played their bit by assisting the students with placement preparation and application to training programs. The majority of the final semester was devoted to placement preparations, and students were excused from class to participate in training and internship opportunities. I was overjoyed to be enrolled in the last semester of college and to be finishing strong. We all got the placements and were happy to start our new journey in life. Those two years were the best days of my life.
