Lucknow University Campus Experience

College life is a chapter of self-discovery, where you’ll uncover your passions, forge lifelong connections, and lay the foundation for a fulfilling future.

It seems like yesterday when I entered my University for the first time. After struggling for months and giving a number of competitive examinations, I finally got admission in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow University. I’ll be sharing all my experiences to date in this institution.

About University:

Lucknow University, officially known as the University of Lucknow, is a renowned and prestigious institution of higher education located in the city of Lucknow, the capital of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Established in 1921, it is one of the oldest universities in India and holds a significant place in the country’s academic history. The Faculty of Engineering & Technology was re-established in 2017, as one of the faculties of the University of Lucknow. The vision of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FoET) is to be globally renowned for imparting quality engineering education in pioneering interdisciplinary technology. Recently Lucknow University received a NAAC A++ grade which has attracted various students to take admission to the university.

Campus:

Most people are unaware of the fact that Lucknow University has 2 campuses(Old Campus and New Campus). The Faculty of Engineering and Technology(FoET) is established on the new campus. It is a 75-acre lush green campus, with both girls’ and boys’ hostels available. I found the environment of campus vibrant and energetic.

Academics:

The University of Lucknow in terms of its excellence in academic and extra-curricular fields has acquired a prestigious place among the leading universities of the country. The FoET’s mission has always been to produce morally aware, dynamic, competent engineering professionals and leaders who shall steer the nation to a better future. I am pursuing B.Tech. from the computer science and engineering branch and I do feel that the faculties here are very cooperative and well qualified.

Facilities:

The Faculty has several well-equipped laboratories for all the departments. Since the infrastructure is not very old, the laboratories are well-maintained. Apart from this the campus also has a sports ground, badminton court, gymnasium(for both girls and boys), etc. keeping in mind both physical and mental health of students. Other facilities like a canteen, library, and auditorium are also present on campus. I do feel that all the necessary elements required for students are available on campus.

Events and Clubs:

For every student, the most interesting part of college life is the events and fests of college. In FoET a number of seminars and competitions are conducted for all the departments. There are several clubs in the university which include Coding club, Dance club, Music club, Literary Club, Robotics Club, Sports club, etc. There is also an Entrepreneurship cell and a Training and Placement cell in the faculty. Fests and various cultural events are organized from time to time. During the time of fest, there is a lot of buzz on the campus which is quite thrilling and brings life to the entire campus. It’s a completely new and exciting experience all together. Overall the university keeps in mind the overall development of students and not only excellence in academics.

My overall experience:

I joined the university in 2022 and after spending almost a year in this institution I have gained several experiences, met a number of people, and most importantly learned a lot of things. I have realized that campus life is more than academics, it is a transformative period of self-discovery. I look forward to the upcoming years with a mix of excitement and determination.
