Spotify, Discord Face Brief Global Outage, Issues Reportedly Fixed

One of the most popular music platforms Spotify faced an outage on Tuesday. All the subscribers were not able to log in to their accounts in many parts of the world, including India. The application stopped working due to which people were not able to listen to music. Although, the issue has been resolved now and Spotify did tweet regarding the same. They took it to social media and tweeted about the problem and also assured their users.

The problem started when the Spotify users tried to log in to their accounts and were dined by the app to do so. The application suddenly stopped working and the music lovers started to face the issues as the live music streaming services were not available. Although the issue did not last long and was resolved by 1:10 AM, which was approximately 2 hours.

Same as Spotify, the renowned application, Discord also went down and the users reported the issue online. As per the downtime detector, the issue started at the same time as Spotify, that is at 11:00 PM, and was resolved by midnight. Discord team addressed the outage and tweeted, 

“We’re aware of an issue causing message failures and are working on a fix. Apologies for the disruption & thx for hanging tight!”

Spotify is a Swedish web player application, which is available for both Android and iOS users where people can listen to the music of their choice. It has more than 138,000 users in the world and at the time of the outage, more than 95% of the users faced the issue. Also according to the report, the issue in this application was due to the problems in the Google Cloud and Spotify acknowledged the issue by tweeting, 

“Something’s not quite right, and we’re looking into it. Thanks for your reports!”

Furthermore, Google Cloud also confirmed the issues and said that Spotify and Discord are on the list of their customers, thus they could have faced a technical fault. 

Google Cloud also issue a statement in which they said, The issue with Traffic Director has been confirmed to be caused by a recent release; the release has been rolled back and customers can now start using Traffic Director. We have identified a probable root cause and will be publishing an Incident Report within the next several days.”
