Sona College of Technology DevFest Experience 2022

Devfest is a global, decentralized tech conference hosted by the Google Developer Groups (GDG) community. Each DevFest event is crafted by its local organizers to fit the learning needs and interests of their local developer community, with a strong focus on knowledge exchange and networking.

Devfest 2022 by GDG Salem took place on November 5, 2022, at Sona College of Technology in Salem.

Registration

This is a free of cost event. No charges were collected for ticket and food. Registration and ticket confirmation are already done online. But to confirm our presence, we are asked to register with the reference of already confirmed ticket. It is mandatory to have confirmed ticket. This is an open event, anyone who are interested in tech community can participate this event.

Event Highlights

Introduction:

The event is started with an introduction about the community and motivation of technology by Mr. Sathishkumar Paramasivam (leader of GDG) followed by industry experts and the venue partner (institution).

Tracks:

After introduction, there are two track choices are given to us. There we can select any one of the track.

1. Cyber security track
2. Machine learning track

After the tea break, we continued the event in the selected tracks. I chose machine learning path.

Lunch:

Lunch was provided by GDG salem.

Machine learning track

The Machine Learning track included sessions by expert speakers on topics related to machine learning, TensorFlow, AI for climate change, optimization techniques for tensorflow models and more.

Sessions

A wide range of sessions was conducted during the event, covering topics like Flutter, Google Earth Engine, Firebase, App Integration with Apps Script, and more. The sessions were set up to be interesting and suitable for both beginners and experts.

Networking

We are open to collaborate with developers, students and experts. We interacted with developers from different organizations and different background. They discussed their developer journey, tech stacks, projects and learning resources.

Conclusion

Devfest 2022 by GDG Salem was a valuable event for tech enthusiasts to learn, share knowledge, and connect with like-minded individuals in the tech community.
