Optical major Lenskart Co-Founder and one of the ‘Sharks’ on popular business reality television series ‘Shark Tank India’ Peyush Bansal has shared an update on Jugadu Kamlesh and his nephew Naru’s project. Bansal had invested 10 lakh rupee for a 40 percent stake in Kamlesh’s venture KG Agrotech and had offered a loan of 20 lakh rupees at a 0% interest rate.

Earlier in February, Shark Bansal had invited both Kamlesh and Naru at his residence in Delhi over lunch to discuss the future plan of the project. They were joined by Bansal’s wife Nimisha. Kamlesh had posted a video on YouTube related to the meeting.

In the pitch titled ‘pitch of the season’ Bansal invested in Kamlesh’s idea of a handmade cart of spraying pesticides in the fields. Kamlesh identified the issue that farmers had been facing while spraying chemicals or pesticides in the fields as he also belongs to a family involved in farming.

The 27-year-old entrepreneur who hails from Malegaon mounted a pesticide spray on a bicycle which could automatically spray the pesticides whenever the vehicle was in motion. The idea was to provide the farmers with relief from back pain, neck pain, and irritation in the eyes at an accessible and affordable price.

Bansal shared a post on Instagram responding to the queries linked with Jugadu Kamlesh, he wrote,

“Everyone I meet these days has one question, what is an update on Kamlesh from @sharktank.india?” Further adding that he doesn’t believe in talking about things till he has achieved something, yet, ‘because of popular demand’, he shared an update.

“We have initiated a process of design and consumer validation of the cart with help of a team of professional Industrial designers,” He said in the post.

Additionally, he also said that the design team, accompanied by Jugadu Kamlesh and Naru, had visited Kamlesh’s hometown Malegaon and farms nearby while talking to farmers of different crops in order to take feedback.

As mentioned by Bansal, the biggest concerns right now include “the weight of the cart, movement on different uneven terrains and width of the cart as the current one is small in size for certain crops.”

Talking about the further steps, the Lenskart Co-Founder mentioned that the following steps will include finding the ‘creative solutions to the above-mentioned problems, designing optimizations, and tastings’.
