Anand Mahindra also received the Padma Bhushan, one of the highest civilian awards in India, for his exponential growth across numerous sectors.

Apart from this, he has been awarded many honors for his amazing contribution to the business field. Also, Anand Mahindra is a man of his words and from investing in music to giving away cars he has done many good deeds, which have made him everyone’s favorite. He has done so many things which brought him close to everyone’s heart and gained a lot of respect from people all over the world.

Though the internet may be criticized by many Anand Mahindra is using it the right way. He, despite being a big businessman, takes out time on Twitter to interact with people and make a generous contribution to their life. He always tries to contribute to the people in need and helps them achieve their dreams.

So here are a few incidences when Anand Mahindra did his contribution in order to help people in need or appreciate them for their good work:

1. Gifted Mini Truck To an Auto driver

Yes, you read it right, Anand Mahindra gifted a mini truck to the auto-rickshaw driver who modified the rear of his auto like a Mahindra Scorpio.

Astonished by his creativity Anand Mahindra purchased the auto from the driver and placed it in the company’s museum. In return, he gifted the driver a Mahindra Supro, a Mahindra’s four-wheeler vehicle. He even took out the time to appreciate the driver on his Twitter account and posted the picture on his Twitter handle and wrote, “Iconic. A way to ‘Rise.’ Thanks for sharing this. Can you help locate him? I’d like to buy it for our museum & give him 4 wheels in return..” He never leaves a single chance to appreciate people and keeps observing unique things to which he can provide recognition too.

2. Helped Cobbler With the New Kiosk

Have you ever heard of any business tycoon helping a cobbler, that’s Anand Mahindra for you.

Once going through his WhatsApp Anand Mahindra came across a post of a cobbler who claimed himself to be a doctor of hurt shoes. Though cobblers mend our shoes none of them must have thought of such an amazing tagline. So impressed by his creativity, Anand Mahindra asked his team to find out the cobbler, who found him somewhere in Haryana and the business tycoon helped him design his own kiosk, where it was written, “Zakhmi Jooton Ka Aspatal” and all the other details.

In his tweet, he appreciated the man and wrote, “This man should be teaching marketing at the Indian Institute of Management…” Yes actually, he is right, can you think of such an innovative tagline?

3. Contribution to Women Empowerment

Though many people do the same, Anand Mahindra has his own style. Yes, he did his contribution to expanding the business of a Mangalore woman by investing in that.

In the year 2015 when the family of this lady was going through a financial crisis, she came to the rescue. The lady took 1 lakh rupees kept for her son’s education, bought a Mahindra Bolero pick-up truck, and converted it into a food truck. She then started selling North Kannad delicacies. This is when someone noticed her and tweeted the same, with its name ‘Halli Mane Rotties’ to Anand Mahindra. Seeing that the humble businessman offered to help her by supplying another Bolero in order to expand her business.

He also tweeted,

A terrific story of entrepreneurship to end the week with. At Mahindra, we call this a Rise story. Am so delighted the Bolero played a small role. Can someone reach her & tell her I will personally invest in her expansion by supplying a Bolero for the second outlet she’s planning?

4. When He Helped Internet’s Favorite Idli Amma

We all know about Kamalathal “Idli Amma”, the lady who sold idlis for just 1 rupee, even in lockdown. She used to make idlis on the firewoods and did not have any gas or LPG connection. When the lady became viral on the internet, her story touched everyone’s heart including Anand Mahindra, who then called her work inspiring, and expressed his desire to help her.

He wrote on Twitter,

One of those humbling stories that make you wonder if everything you do is even a fraction as impactful as the work of people like Kamalathal. I notice she still uses a wood-burning stove. If anyone knows her I’d be happy to ‘invest’ in her business & buy her an LPG fueled stove.

Once she was given an LPG stove and her own space to live and sell idlis, he again tweeted saying, “Only rarely does one get to play a small part in someone’s inspiring story, and I would like to thank Kamalathal, better known as Idli Amma, for letting us play a small part in hers. She will soon have her own house cum workspace from where she will work and sell idlis.”

5. Appreciated Sports Person

We all are aware of this, that Anand Mahindra never missed a chance to appreciate sports personalities. It was all over the news how he gifted XUV700 to Neeraj Chopra, who won the gold medal for India in Tokyo Olympics 2020. Apart from this, he also gifted Tokyo Paralympics gold medal winner Sumit Antil a personalized Mahindra XUV700.

Avani Lekhara a Paralympian, who also won gold for India in the shooting was gifted a special customized XUV-700, fitted with a special hydraulic seat to easily sit or get out of the car on a wheelchair. Besides them Mahindra also gifted Thar SUV to the Indian debutants who starred in the Border-Gavaskar series, they were Shubam Gill, Mohammed Siraj, T Natarajan, Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini, and along with them, Shardul Thakur was also included for his outstanding performance.

6. When He Compensated the Couple

There are many people who tried to do their bits in lockdown in order to help people in need, but there was a couple who went way beyond the expectation. Yes, this couple provided food to almost 1500 people in Mumbai and for which they exhausted their complete personal savings, 4 lakh rupees. They have been saving up for buying a house, though they used that amount for a good deed. On listening up on this story Anand Mahindra came forward and offered to compensate the couple financially.

He tweeted,

Couldn’t bring myself to swipe down after seeing this. Don’t know many people-wealthy or otherwise-who’d donate their home savings for a cause. If the @timesofindia journalist who covered this vouches for its accuracy, it’ll be my privilege to compensate the couple for their loss.

So here were a few incidents of Anand Mahindra that really inspire us to do good in our daily life.
