Shark Tank India is a reality show where the seven self-made multimillionaires namely Ashneer Grover, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar, Aman Gupta, Ghazal Alagh, and Anupam Mittal gives opportunities to different entrepreneurs to showcase their business plans so that they can get the desired funding from the sharks against some equity being offered. It’s based on the give and take relationship where the entrepreneurs deliver their business model in front of the sharks to get funding and in return, the sharks demand some of the equity.

Seven self-made, multimillionaire tycoons interact with their own money to fund a new group of budding entrepreneurs. To jumpstart their business initiatives, they convince these tycoons to invest in their ideas. Entrepreneurs pitch their businesses model to seven sharks, all successful leaders in their respective ventures, and titans in their respective industries. Nobody expected that Shark Tank India would be a great hit. This program was such a hit that it got a chance to get promoted on the Kapil Sharma Show, all the seven sharks were recently seen on the sets.

There are many terms like equity, valuation, gross margin, royalty, patent, customer acquisition cost that was not known by many people but because of this show now not only adults, even youngsters are getting aware of these terms which are a good part of this show.

All About the 7 Sharks:

1. Ashneer Grover

One of the finest graduates from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi where he completed his B.Tech in civil engineering, moreover during his graduation days he also got a golden opportunity to be selected as a student of INSA Lyon. He is the co-founder and former MD of BharatPe. BharatPe is an application developed by Ashneer Grover which helps merchants and Kirana (Grocery) store owners in India to manage their sales. The application has done well for users; more than a million retailers have registered with BharatPe in the last two years. After raising $370 million at a valuation of $2.85 billion, it became a unicorn in August.

2. Vineeta Singh

Vineeta Singh is the co-founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics, India’s fastest-growing beauty brand. The company has a distribution network of more than 2,500 stores scattered across 130 cities in India and raised more than 100 million rupees in its fifth year. She completed her schooling at the Delhi public school, Delhi. She is blessed with two sons namely Vikrant and Kaushik. The net worth of Veenita Singh is measured at about $8 million.

3. Peyush Bansal

With a net worth of 1.5 billion-dollar Lenskart has done a commendable job in the market and this is all because of the founder and CEO Peyush Bansal. He has completed his graduation from Don Bosco High School and McGill University, Canada. Peyush Bansal was also a student of the renowned Indian Institute of Management, Banglore. He was completely dedicated to starting something of his own he then did some market research and analysis to find what was lacking in the market and this is how he founded Lenskart. With an investment of 25 lakhs, he launched his first website “searchmycampus.com”.

4. Namita Thapar

She is a very passionate woman with a strong motivation who never gave up on her dreams to become a businesswoman, even her success is very inspiring for many girls. She is the CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals which is based in Pune. She graduated from Pune’s school in 1977 and later completed an ICAI degree in chartered accounting. Namita Thapar also completed her MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. She is blessed with two sons and a caring husband Vikas Thapar.

5. Anupam Mittal

In his early career, Anupam founded a New Media & Entertainment Group that includes Shaadi.com, Makaan.com, Mauj Mobile, and People Pictures. Today, People Group is known as one of the most innovative enterprises in India. Besides being one of the group’s key operating leaders, Anupam is also one of India’s most sought-after business leaders. A total of around 65 investments have been made by Anupam Mittal. Their latest investment was in Reevoy’s Seed Round on Jan 25, 2022, where he invested $4M. He has a beautiful wife Aanchal Kumar who is a model and they both are blessed with a beautiful child.

6. Aman Gupta

BoAt changed the world of electronics; it is one of the top brands these days and it’s all because of Aman Gupta who is the founder of BoAt. Prior to co-founding Imagine Marketing Services (BoAt), Gupta worked as sales director at Harman International. BoAt’s custodian company, Image Marketing Services Pvt Ltd, was launched by Aman Gupta and Sameer Ashok Mehta in November 2013. The BoAt was founded in 2016, In the beginning, the boat traded in “trendy audio products”. For the past 2 years boat has done a commendable job in the market by selling headphones, earphones, speakers. According to recent reports BoAt is eyeing on $1.5-2 billion valuation. Aman Gupta is a chartered accountant as well which shows that he has a great mindset.

7. Ghazal Alagh

MamaEarth is an Indian beauty brand with the main motive to provide products without the mixture of toxic chemicals to the customers and this is the only reason for its success. Ghazal Alagh with her husband Varun Alagh founded MamaEarth back in 2016. The net worth of Ghazal Alagh is said to be $10-20 million. She is a student of Punjab University where she completed her BCA. They are doing a commendable job in marketing their products, today we can see that every YouTuber who has a good fan base is seen promoting their products.
