Samsung Internship Interview Experience | On-Campus 2021

  • Last Updated : 20 Jan, 2022

Samsung(SRIB-Samsung Research Institute Banglore) visited my college NIT Trichy on Oct 5, 2021, for internships. There were two rounds in total.

It came for 2 profiles.

  1. Developer Intern
  2. Advanced Developer Intern

The stipend was 50k/month+extra benefits and posting was obviously Banglore as the name suggests.

  • Streams: CSE, ECE, EEE, and Instrumentation
  • For Developer intern – CGPA of 7 and above
  • For Advanced developer intern – CGPA of 9 and above

There were 2 rounds.

Round 1(Oct 6): The first round was of 1hr 15 min duration. We were given 3 coding questions on cocubes platform. There were sets and each person got different questions though some got common questions. The following 3 are the questions I got.

In the second and third questions, we have to return the answer in the form of linkedlist.

Only 2 test cases are visible and the final verdict was not shown. Those who managed to solve all three were qualified for the next round.

Tip: Speed matters. Solve as soon as completed and submit them even though time is left.

A total of 12 students were selected for the next round.

Round 2(Technical Round – Oct 12): The interviewer started with his introduction and asked me to introduce myself. He then asked a few questions about the project. He then asked the following questions.

  1. Reverse a number using recursion.
  2. Quicksort implementation
  3. Difference between merge sort and quick sort and their applications.
  4. KMP algorithm approach
  5. Other lab projects
  6. What is Oops?
  7. Practical applications of encapsulation and polymorphism and their implementation.
  8. Applications of Oops.

The interviewer wanted me to write clean code and I had to write the complete code and verify it using sample test cases. The interview was about 30 min for me and for others it was 45 minutes. The round went well and was comparatively easy.

There was supposedly another round but didn’t happen.

After 3 days i.e on Oct 16, we received the result and 7 candidates got selected and I was, fortunately, one of them.

Verdict: Selected

Tip: Be confident and genuine.

Difficulty level– Moderate.
