I am currently working in Persistent Systems, I was placed in Persistent through campus placement. It’s been a fantastic journey thus far. On my first day, I was a little bit nervous, a lot of questions were on my mind. When I reached there my all nervousness was gone. Persistent ensured a smooth transition from campus to corporate. Other joiners also were there. Persistent welcomed us with delicious breakfast and tea/coffee. Then we headed towards the auditorium for the induction. Leaders motivated us with their words about how things gonna be different from now, what will be our responsibilities, what is teamwork, etc. We also played games like treasure hunts. The purpose behind this game was to understand how to work in a team. From the next day onward I started with my training in .NET Technology. The training was six months long. Upon completion of training, I had taken assessment and scored a good score on it. Also End of the training I worked on a learning project which was in .NET Technology.

After clearing the assessment I was allocated to the project where the real challenge started. Everything was new for me. I was a little bit afraid about how I am going to adapt to things, will I be able to complete my assigned task, and what if I do something wrong but thanks to my manager. He helped me a lot in setting up all things. Then I asked him about what is the project about, do I need to learn anything else, etc. He explained all the things and introduced to the other team members and asked me to take anyone help in case of any difficulty. Everyone was very helpful.

Responsibilities:

My responsibilities as a software engineer.

  • Writing and Implementing well-designed testable code.
  • Testing Software. If any defects are found during functional and non-function testing then fix it. If any bugs are reported during UAT fix it.
  • Providing daily status reports of the task assigned to the manager and stakeholders.
  • Provide support in deployment.

Also Persistent encourages learning new things. For hackathon lovers, Persistent arranges SEMICOLON events every year. Apart from work, Persistent gives opportunity to showcase your talents like dancing, singing, drawing, and photography through various events like the PULSE event. If you are interested in social work persistent foundation will allow you to volunteer in their activities. I like the persistent work culture. I always get appreciation when I do good work. I am really happy that I started my corporate journey with Persistent Systems.
