Though the campus area is not very big it compensates with other infrastructure like computers and labs are well equipped with all the needed accessories and smart boards. The computers here are the latest model of the i5 and the i7 processor. There is an AICTE idea lab which contains the latest machines. They are iot labs, aiml labs, logic design labs etc. There is a well-equipped library.

Curriculum

The curriculum is well-designed and according to industry requirements. As the college is autonomous and can decide its own syllabus, NIET has removed some unnecessary old curricula of AKTU with Modern industry-oriented technology subjects.

Courses available

Courses available are Engineering, Pharmacy and MBA. Engineering NIRF rank is 145 and Pharmacy NIRF rank is 42. Which indicates the good infrastructure and faculties.

Faculties

The faculties here are good as well. 1st year faculties are especially good. Most of them are PhD holders and passed out from excellent colleges like NIT Delhi, NIT Allahabad, NIT Jaipur, NIT Rourkela, Jamia Millia Islamia, University of Delhi, etc. Some are passed out from new IITs as well. They will help you if you want to study.

Placements

There has been a record of almost 90%+ placements. Though most of them are in the range of 3 to 5 lakh per annum. But if you manage to come in the top 100 students of college you may get a package in double digits that is 10 lakh per annum + as well. Decent no. of Students get packages between 6 to 8 lakh per annum. Some top companies visited here are Cognizant, Accenture, Cvent, Genpact etc. The Pharmacy Department also has good Placements compared to other nearby colleges. The placement department organises training every semester.

NIET had various successful start-ups as well. They provide assistance and infrastructure for Startups, for example, every startup that is approved by the college is provided with a decent working space and labs to work on. Additionally, they provide 50000 rupees as starting monetary help to the startups. E Cell is very active here.

Academics

In academics as well, there are AKTU toppers from NIET every year. Many students get 9+ and 9.5+ CGPAs. Though some get back as well. It all depends on what peer group you choose.

That is not a single free weekend. Something extracurricular is happening every weekend. Whether it be a technical competition or any cultural event. Every month there are technical events. Research

The students here are encouraged to do research. Even many of the 2nd year Btech Students have their research papers published already. For this, there are many collaborations with Indian and foreign organisations.

Conclusion

Overall it’s a decent college to choose if you don’t have the rank to get into Tier 1 or Tier 2 college. As NIET is a Tier 3 college, In the end, you have to work hard on your own as most of the companies do partiality with Tier 1 and 2 colleges and underpay Tier 3 college passes. The academic record, skills and connections that you will make in your college life will help you overcome these shortcomings.
