I joined Morgan Stanley as a college pass-out and worked there for 4.6 years. My experience was both rewarding and enriching, I loved the place and I would encourage others to work there at least once.

There is an enormous amount of learning in MS and everyone is very helpful and supportive there. I worked there as a senior software engineer and focused on designing and delivering asset management software for the bank.

Here is what makes Morgan Stanley different (pro) from other Investment Banks:

  • The work is challenging but rewarding. New graduates are given the opportunity to work on complex and cutting-edge projects, which can be very rewarding. However, the work can also be challenging, as new graduates are expected to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • The culture is collaborative and supportive. Morgan Stanley is known for its collaborative culture, and new graduates are encouraged to ask questions and seek help from their colleagues. There is also a strong focus on mentorship, and new graduates are often paired with more experienced engineers who can help them learn and grow.
  • The compensation is competitive. Morgan Stanley offers competitive salaries and benefits to its employees, and new graduates can expect to earn a salary that is well above the market average.
  • The opportunities for growth are excellent. Morgan Stanley is a large and growing company, and there are many opportunities for new graduates to advance their careers. There are also opportunities to transfer to different departments or locations, which can help new graduates gain new skills and experience.

Here are some specific examples of what a new graduate in the Morgan Stanley technology firm might experience:

  • Working on complex and cutting-edge projects. For example, a new graduate might work on a project to develop a new trading algorithm or a new way to use artificial intelligence to analyze financial data.
  • Learning from experienced mentors. New graduates are often paired with more experienced engineers who can help them learn and grow. For example, a new graduate might be paired with a senior engineer who can help them learn how to use a new programming language, or how to design and implement a new software system.
  • Attending training and development programs. Morgan Stanley offers a variety of training and development programs for its employees, including new graduate programs, technical training programs, and leadership development programs. These programs help new graduates develop the skills they need to succeed in their careers.
  • Networking with other professionals. Morgan Stanley is a large and global company, and there are many opportunities for new graduates to network with other professionals. For example, new graduates might attend industry conferences, or join professional organizations. Networking can help new graduates learn about new opportunities, and make connections that can help them advance their careers.

If you are interested in a career in technology, Morgan Stanley is a great place to start. The company offers a challenging and rewarding work environment, a collaborative culture, and excellent compensation and benefits. If you are a recent graduate, I encourage you to apply for a position at Morgan Stanley.
