University of Lucknow (New Campus) Sanskriti Surbhi Fest Experience

College fests are the time when students get a break from their monotonous academic schedule and get a chance to indulge in co-curricular activities. In these fests, there are several cultural events organized by institutions where students are able to showcase their diverse talents and skills. These fests are generally held each year. They serve as a platform for students to express their creativity and engage themselves in various activities. Apart from this, students also get an opportunity to grow their network and meet students from different communities.

The University of Lucknow organizes a cultural fest called ‘Sanskriti Surbhi’ on the new campus.

About Sanskriti Surbhi

It is a 5-day long cultural and sports fest. This fest is held each year in the months of November and December. Various colleges from all over Lucknow enthusiastically take part in this fest. There are several kinds of events ranging from dance and music to sports completions which are organized in this period.

Events

A wide range of events take place in Sanskriti Surbhi Fest, both cultural and sports.

In culture, there are events like – solo, duo and group dancing and singing. For Literary lovers, there are – Poetry, Play, debate and creative writing competitions both in English and Hindi.

Many sports events are also organized like – football, basketball, badminton, tug of war, power lifting, shotput, long jump, javelin, race and kabaddi. Indoor games like chess, table tennis and carrom are also there. Along with this E-sports like BGMI, Mini Militia and Clash Royale are also organized.

For art lovers, there are events like T-shirt printing, poster and card making, live portraits and rangoli.

Some fun events like photography, fashion show, modelling and Bollywood quiz also take place for students to enjoy.

On the last day of the fest, EDM nights take place where students get a chance to celebrate and a popular band is also invited. This takes the fest altogether to a next level.

My personal experience:

Taking part in a college fest is very necessary for students so that they can explore different activities and gain some of the best lifetime experiences. It is the best way to showcase one’s talent and interact with people from different backgrounds. For me, it was an overwhelming experience and I got a chance to meet various talented students. I took part in solo dancing and it felt terrific to perform in front of such a large audience after a long time. My friends who took part in other events also gave a positive feedback. And yes, the last day was a memorable and fun day for all of us. In conclusion, college fests are one of the integral parts of the life of any college student and being a part of it helps in all-round development of a student. Sanskriti Surabhi will always remain a core memory of my college life.
