Introduction:

I recently had the opportunity to interview for the position of a .NET Developer with Front-End Skills at Logibricks Technologies, a fast-growing software development company that specializes in creating innovative web applications using Microsoft technologies and cutting-edge front-end frameworks. The position required expertise in .NET development, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and SQL.

Preparation:

Before the interview, I thoroughly reviewed my .NET programming concepts and brushed up on front-end technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. I also revised my knowledge of SQL database queries and optimizations. I studied ‘ Logibricks Technologies’ website, their previous projects, and their technology stack to better understand their work and align my skills with their requirements.

Interview Process:

1. Initial Screening:

During this stage, the HR representative or recruiter reviews the resumes received from interested candidates and shortlists those who appear to have the necessary qualifications and experience to proceed to the next stage of the interview process. They look for keywords, relevant work experience, educational background, certifications, and other qualifications that align with the job description

2. Technical Interview – Round 1:

In the first technical interview round, the interviewers focused on assessing the candidate’s knowledge of the basics of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, and object-oriented programming concepts. Here are some sample questions that might have been asked:

1. HTML:

  • a. What is HTML, and what does it stand for?
  • b. Explain the basic structure of an HTML document.
  • c. How do you create a hyperlink in HTML? Provide an example.
  • d. What are semantic HTML elements, and why are they important?

2. CSS:

  • What is CSS, and what does it stand for?
  • How do you select an element in CSS? Describe different ways to apply styles to elements.
  • What is the difference between inline and block-level elements in CSS?
  • How do you center an element horizontally and vertically using CSS?

3. JavaScript:

  • What is JavaScript, and what is its role in web development?
  • Explain the difference between “var,” “let,” and “const” when declaring variables.
  • How do you handle asynchronous operations in JavaScript? Provide examples.
  • What are callbacks and how do they work in JavaScript?

4. MySQL:

  • What is MySQL, and what is its primary use in web development?
  • How do you create a new database and table in MySQL? Provide the SQL queries.
  • What is the difference between “SELECT,” “INSERT,” “UPDATE,” and “DELETE” statements?
  • How do you join two or more tables in a MySQL query?

5. Object-Oriented Programming Concepts:

  • Define object-oriented programming (OOP) and its core principles.
  • What is a class and an object in OOP? Provide a simple example.
  • Explain the concepts of inheritance and polymorphism with examples.

The purpose of these questions is to gauge the candidate’s foundational knowledge in each area, ensuring they have a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts related to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, and object-oriented programming. Depending on the candidate’s responses, the interviewers may delve deeper into specific topics or proceed to the next technical rounds focused on more complex scenarios and problem-solving tasks.

Conclusion:

Overall, the interview experience at was challenging but insightful. The company was clearly seeking candidates who could work with both .NET backend technologies and front-end web development. The process allowed me to showcase my expertise in both areas and demonstrate my ability to integrate the two seamlessly. I appreciated the company’s professionalism and thoroughness in evaluating candidates. Now, I eagerly await their final decision on the outcome of my application.
