KIET Group of Institutions Campus Experience

Hello, I’m currently in my fourth semester of pursuing a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence (AI) at KIET Group of Institutions. My experience at KIET has been enriching, offering me a solid foundation in AI and excellent exposure to the industry.

KIET is known for its high ranking among engineering colleges affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). This provides students with a reputable academic experience and valuable career opportunities.

Placement Overview

KIET recently completed its placement drive for the class of 2023, with an impressive placement rate of 95.02%. The highest package offered during this period was INR 48.4 LPA, and the average package was INR 7.25 LPA. Major companies like Amazon, Cisco, Wipro, Talent Next, Yantra Byte, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, and TCS actively recruited from the campus. For 2024, the placement data isn’t available yet, but the highest package offered this academic year is INR 60 LPA by Atlassian.

Supportive Faculty

The faculty at KIET is kind and approachable. They are available for help even up to 10 pm, which greatly benefits students in need of guidance or support with their coursework. The teaching style is excellent, and their communication is clear and friendly.

Campus Discipline and Environment

KIET is strict when it comes to discipline, especially for first-year students. Punctuality is mandatory, and starting in 2024, first-year students will also have a dress code. Once, a classmate of mine was overheard using inappropriate language by the dean and was suspended for a few days as a result.

Academics and Library

While some subjects in the curriculum could use updates to match industry demands, the college library is an excellent resource. It’s a quiet place for students to study and gain knowledge.

Campus Life and Opportunities

Campus life is exciting, especially if you choose to stay in the hostel. You get to meet people from different backgrounds and enjoy various sports and co-curricular activities. For girls, there are stricter rules regarding curfew times, but they also have access to amenities within their hostel premises. Boys must stay on campus after 10 pm due to safety concerns in the surrounding area.

Internships and Opportunities

KIET provides support for internships, allowing students from all years to apply for various roles. Internships play a key role in shaping students’ corporate personas and learning opportunities. Some companies visiting the campus for internships include Kronos and NEC India.

Fests and Cultural Life

KIET hosts several annual fests that bring the campus alive with excitement and creativity. One of the highlights is “Epoque,” which is a major cultural festival known for its vibrant events, competitions, and performances.You can expect a lot of activities and superb musical and dance night with a celebrity performance too (Sunidhi Chauhan, Benny Dayal, KK, Neha Kakkar, Kanika Kapoor, Mika Singh,Jubin Nautiyal,Darshan Raval etc. have visited the college). It is a 2 day blessing to explore some adventure and entertainment. Students showcase their talents in music, dance, drama, and various other cultural arts.

In addition, the college also organizes “Innotech,” a technical fest where students can engage in events related to their fields of study. This fest includes competitions, workshops, and exhibitions that provide opportunities to explore innovations and advancements in technology.

The sports fest, known as “Rann,” is another major event that encourages physical fitness and teamwork. Students participate in various sports competitions, including cricket, football, badminton, and athletics, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition.

These fests provide students with an opportunity to unwind and engage with their peers in a more informal setting, promoting a balanced college experience.

Cafeteria

The KIET cafeteria was recently renovated and offers a modern, air-conditioned space for students to relax and enjoy a variety of food options. From parathas to sandwiches, South Indian to Chinese cuisine, and tea to juices, the cafeteria menu has something for everyone. It’s a great place to socialize with friends or take a break from studies.

Technology Business Incubator (TBI)

KIET also has a TBI that supports entrepreneurship and innovation. Students with startup ideas can receive guidance and some government grants through this program.

Overall, my journey at KIET has been rewarding, with its supportive environment, strong academics, and ample opportunities for growth and learning. I’m grateful for the experiences I’ve had here and look forward to continuing my studies and exploring future possibilities.
