jQuery Mobile is a web-based technology used to make responsive content that can be accessed on all smartphones, tablets, and desktops.

In this article, we will be using the jQuery Mobile Pagecontainer beforechange event. This event is triggered during the page change cycle prior to any page loading or transition.

Syntax: Initializing the pagecontainer with the beforechange event.

$( ".selector" ).pagecontainer({
beforechange: function( event, ui ) {}
});
  • Binding an event listener to the pagecontainer beforechange event.

    $( ".selector" ).on(
        "pagecontainerbeforechange",
        function( event, ui ) {}
    );

Parameters: This event accepts two parameters that are illustrated below:

  • event: This is the specified event.
  • ui: This parameter accepts some values that are given below:
    • toPage: This property is used for representing the page the caller wishes to make active. This can be either a jQuery collection object that contains the page DOM element or an absolute/relative URL to an internal or external page. The value exactly matches the 1st parameter of the changePage() call that triggered the event.
    • prevPage: This is a jQuery collection object containing the from page DOM element.
    • options: This is a jQuery collection object containing the from page DOM element.

CDN Link: First, add jQuery Mobile scripts needed for your project.

<script src=”//code.jquery.com/mobile/1.5.0-alpha.1/jquery.mobile-1.5.0-alpha.1.min.js”></script>
