Scaled Agile Framework, or SAFe Although they are not the same, agile and scaled agile are frequently used interchangeably.

  • SAFe is a particular framework designed to help large organisations scale agile methods. It gives organisations advice and best practices for using Agile concepts at scale, enabling them to manage tasks across several teams, projects, and portfolios.
  • SAFe is a set of roles, procedures, and ceremonies that help with delivery at scale, alignment, and collaboration.
  • On the other side, any strategy or framework for extending Agile techniques beyond individual teams is included in the more general phrase “scaled agile.”
  • While LeSS (Large-Scale Scrum), Spotify Model, and Nexus are a few additional frameworks and approaches for scaling Agile, SAFe is a particular implementation of Scaled Agile.
  • The ideas, techniques, and approaches for scaling Agile within these frameworks may vary based on the specific needs and circumstances of the organisation.
