IIT-Madras Work Experience as Intern

I worked at IIT-Madras as a summer intern for 2 months. I joined as an intern right after my 3rd-year semester exams are over. I applied to the Natesan summer internship program in March and got the offer letter in April. My 2 months internship program duration is from May-July. IIT Madras is obviously the most anticipated college of every Engineering student I was also very excited to work in it. I am a computer science student but my internship is in the machine design section so we tried to implement a paper based on mechanics with machine design.

Although I was an intern the professor and other students received me well and I have learned many things from them as they are Phd students. Since it’s not my domain it took me time to completely understand the paper and what is my role in it. I have learned some software related to mechanical engineering and tried to implement my project in it after successful completion of that I started learning deep learning as it is the most efficient and effective to implement the paper for better results. The thing I understand is even if we get a job learning is a continuous process and we have to learn the newly emerging technologies to keep us updated.

My key responsibilities as an Intern are:

• Working closely with seniors and developing high-quality production code.
• Own development in various parts of my skills.
• Designing, developing, and debugging.
