Engineering is considered to be a driving force behind innovation and technological progress. In my childhood, I have never dreamt of being an engineer. Though engineering is not so famous I wished to be a doctor. I started my schooling in my hometown itself. In the 7th grade, my parents decided to put me in another school to offer me a better education. The next school is the place where I first heard about Engineering i.e. B.TECH. This school teaches all the subjects but we are taught Maths, Physics, and Chemistry in depth. The main motto of this school is to educate children right from school age to make them achieve seats in any of the Indian Institute of Technologies or National Institute of Technologies.

The process to get a seat in any IIT or NIT is to clear the IIT-JEE Mains and Advanced examinations. So I prepared rigorously to face that examination. Days passed and I cleared my 10th standard board examinations with 10CGPA which boosted my confidence immensely. The time came to join my 11th and 12th standards. My parents searched for an institute that offers good coaching for the Joint Entrance Examination. I was admitted there and my coaching started. A year passed and soon there came the pandemic COVID-19. I can say that COVID-19 affected my studies in one way or the other. As the government declared lockdown we were forced to sit and study at home which is a great deal for me.

Later on, the dates for the Joint Entrance Examination were announced and we were given 4 attempts. So I registered myself to appear in the tests. I took online classes and coaching. I started giving my attempts. Even though my result was not as good as I expected I never gave up. I kept on trying and trying. Along with JEE I also appeared for different engineering entrance examinations side by side. I also gave the State Engineering Examinations in which I secured a decent rank when compared to the JEE examination. I have appeared in the BITS [Birla Institute of Technology] entrance examination. I also took the entrance tests for some renowned private colleges such as VIT[Vellore Institute of Technology], Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, SRM etc.

Soon after all the entrance examinations were done and the respective results were declared, the counselling for the JEE entrance examination was started. Students who qualify for the test can apply for the counselling. The counselling consists of 7 rounds and we have to either FLOAT, FREEZE or SLIDE the options we have obtained. In my 4th round of counselling, I got GURU GHASIDAS VISHWAVIDHYALAYA, BILASPUR, CHATTISGARH. As this is the Central University, it has its fame. So by taking the guidance of my parents, I have joined this university. I got the Electronics and Communication Engineering branch. My interest in circuits drew me into this field. I am happily pursuing my bachelor’s degree at this university.

This is my journey in the Engineering entrance examination
