IIIT Vadodara MTech Admission Experience

About IIITV

IIIT Vadodara is situated in Gandhinagar’s GEC, Gandhinagar College. Currently, it is not the permanent campus of IIITV. In IIIT Vadodara you can opt for BTech in CSE and IT, MTech in CSE (AI and Data Science) also PhD.

IIITV has one international campus known as IIITV-ICD at Diu. Talking about the placement’s highest placement in MTech is 21 LPA, the Average placement is 13-14 LPA and the Lowest placement is 7 LPA. And in BTech highest placement is of 43 LPA, the Average placement is 17 LPA and the Lowest placement is 6.5 LPA.

About the Admission Process

Students who are qualified in GATE CSE/ECE can be applied directly to ITV via CCMT Portal.

But students who are not qualified in GATE CSE/EC Exam they have to appear for MTech Spot Round, I have appeared for this MTech Spot Round exam. In this Spot Round students have to complete the following 2 rounds.

During my interview round Panel of 6 professors was there and everyone was asking about different-different topics.

Round 1 – Written Test

Where students have to prepare the GATE CSE or EC syllabus and appear for a written test round which is online. After clearing the written test, they will mail you that you have been shortlisted for Interview Round.

Round 2 – Interview Round

In the interview round, they asked questions from Mathematics and CSE core subjects.

They asked questions following questions:

• Introduced yourself

From Mathematics

• Explain is Cardinality
• Tell me about the real numbers, whole numbers, and rational numbers, and which is greater compared to which?
• The probability to occur an event is 2. Is it true or false?
• Conditional Probability
• Disjoint Sets

From CSE Core Subjects

• Tell me what subjects you have prepared.
  • Me: Data Structure, Algorithm, Python Programming, and Some parts of Database]
• Explain Big(O)
• Tell me which sorting algorithm are you comfortable with?
  • [Me: Bubble Sort]
• Tell me the best case and worst case of the Bubble sort with an example.
• What is Branching from the topic of Tree?
• Explain BFS and DFS
• What is Normalization? Explain 4NF or 5NF normalization.
• Explain the difference between 3NF and BCNF
• How can you say that the program or code is in Big(O) form?
• Do you know Relational Databases? Explain It
• What is MongoDB? Does MongoDB follow Relational Database?
• Which is better Java or Python?
• What projects have you done during your internship and during your bachelor’s?

Still, the result in not been declared yet. Waiting for the results. Hope I get selected. As it is near to my hometown and wants to study with the professors of IIITs. If not get selected, then again, I have to appear for GATE 2024 and wait for another 5-6 months to get a good college.
